Abstract: The focus of this study is to understand the mediating role of organisational citizenship behaviour between psychological capital and psychological wellbeing. For this, a sample of 330 scientists engaged in research and development and was administered with questionnaire measuring the constructs under study. Data analysis was carried out by means of the structural equation modelling technique with the help of LISREL (version 8.72). Hypothesised model was compared with few alternative models in order to precisely know intermediating effect. Model fit indices revealed the OCB as mediator has a better fit in explaining the relationship between psychological capital and psychological wellbeing. Implication of the study suggested top management to conduct various positive training programs which builds the self-confidence among scientists.
