Mapping the position of higher educational institutes in national economic advancement: a comparative analysis

Abstract: This study examines the role of higher educational institutes (HEI) in national economic development, from various angles and aspects with a specific focus on university-based research in large economic nations. The discussion is complemented by an in-depth study of the available data on research and experimental development (R&D) for various countries. This research is done on gathered evidence from existing data and various researches from industries, higher education, public and private institutions working at national or international level. The findings justified the crucial role that higher education plays in the economy of a country and also explains their increasing contribution for economic recovery.
