Abstract: In our work, we present a simulation of the optimal location problem of three FACTS devices (SVC) in an electric power network. The chosen criterion is the minimisation of total active losses under specified constraints. Solving the problem will be carried out by a metaheuristic method. Metaheuristics are general optimisation methods using smart rules to navigate the space of solutions. They produce good solutions. The iterative method Gauss-Seidel will be used for the load flow and optimal location of three SVC devices will be done by hybrid bees' colonies algorithm (HBCA). An application will be made on a test network IEEE-57 bus.
