Abstract: Surface texturing has the advantage of improving mechanical seal performance, such as improving load-carrying capacity, reducing friction coefficient and minimising wear, etc. Therefore, the quality of surface texture is significance. The aim of this paper is to manufacture surface texture with the regular shape, good consistency and high quality. The pulsed Nd:YAG laser is adopted to produce the surface texture with the multiple-spot scanning method, and 3D white light interference surface morphology apparatus is used to measure the profiles of surface texture. Results show that the surface texture with high quality can be acquired.
