A supplier selection problem in petrochemical industry using common weight data envelopment analysis with qualitative criteria

Abstract: In comparison to other organisations and firms, supplier selection is much more critical in petrochemical industry and it is more emphasised in Iran for some especial condition of country. As the selection procedure is very complicated, it is required to make it easy while the accuracy is maintained. In this paper a supplier selection problem in petrochemical industry with qualitative criteria, which is more comfortable for organisation to map their vision about suppliers, and a new critical criterion which is called executive capabilities is presented. This criterion is based on the experiments of authors and other experts in the scope of petrochemical industry. In order to handle the qualitative criteria and have a fair comparison of alternatives, a common weight DEA-MCDA model is applied to rank the suppliers. The primary results show the importance of new criterion in selection of suppliers in the field of petrochemical industry.
