Technical Note: Introducing fuel cells to the transport sector
by V.W. Adams
International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 19, No. 2, 1998

Abstract: Successful demonstration of many fuel cell demonstrators worldwide has prompted the author to consider the use of these in conjunction with battery-driven electric vehicles. Battery-driven vehicles are now being widely assessed in the public transport sector and although emission free, their recharging shifts pollution from the roads to power stations. This paper introduces options for introducing fuel cells to transport and then considers the possibility of using dedicated fuel cell power generators for recharging fleets of battery-driven vehicles.
