Abstract: In this paper, an attempt has been made to synthesise copper oxide nanowires on printed circuits. The procedure involves thermal oxidation of substrates in air at a temperature of 450°C. Electron microscope studies confirm the formation of nanowires. X-ray diffraction analysis is done for the samples. A probable mechanism of formation of Cu2O nanowire interconnects is discussed. An analysis of its possible applications is also done.
