International Journal of Materials and Product Technology (IJMPT), Vol. 2, No. 2, 1987

Abstract: It is well known that engine oils can influence passenger car fuel efficiency. However to define improvements in fuel efficiency that can be obtained by the use of fuel efficient oils needs suitable standardized methods that can accurately measure these improvements. The paper is a status report on work by the Co-ordinating European Council to develop Codes of Practice for chassis dynamometer and fired engine testing of fuel efficient oils.
