Abstract: New information technologies and business models have had a profound effect on how services are created and delivered, in particular with regard to the innovation, contents, delivery methods, systems, enabling technologies and management. This special issue of the International Journal of Services Technology and Management (IJSTM) focuses on all aspects of managing the hard and soft technologies to enhance and enrich services in high-tech industries, e.g., semiconductor manufacturing. This introduction gives an overview of this special issue from different perspectives.
