PACECOM: learner support for EuroPACE satellite programs

Abstract: EuroPACE uses satellite technology to deliver education in engineering and technology to European industry and universities. PACECOM is a communications environment created by EuroPACE to provide electronic mail, computer conferencing, and library retrieval as on-line support for the EuroPACE programs. This paper looks at the objectives of PACECOM, and presents suggestions for improvement of the service and for maximising the benefits of the system.
