by Sir Kenneth Durham
International Journal of Technology Management (IJTM), Vol. 1, No. 1/2, 1986

Abstract: Rapid advances in technology are giving us once again the opportunity to take part in an industrial revolution. The determinant of our success in this is the ability to develop and rapidly exploit the new technology to our commercial advantage. The exploitation of the technology leading to new products and processes is a difficult operation requiring many skills and an ability to use them in a coherent and disciplined way. The management of a company must be committed to growth through innovation and must set up mechanisms by which projects can be started and structured so as to minimize the barriers and difficulties that always occur.
