Strategy development by operational gaming
by Johannes M. Dathe
International Journal of Technology Management (IJTM), Vol. 3, No. 5, 1988

Abstract: After a discussion of some useful applications of game theory for obtaining insight into the mechanics of competition, experiences with war gaming methodology are presented. Details are given of REMUS, a three-party game on environmental issues. The results from it were just as positive as those gained with operational gaming in Japan. When it is understood that a learning process is involved in the introduction of strategic management in a company, it becomes obvious that operational gaming is the proper tool for it.
