Dynamic green location and routing problem for service points

Abstract: Green policies have been developed because of enabling recycling by reducing the usage of resources like energy, manpower, etc. In this article, a visual dynamic approach for determining depots' location and routing problem for technical services of white goods is examined regarding minimising the fuel consumption and depot opening and running costs. The problem is modelled under green logistic perspectives, considering the lowest fuel consumption and minimum carbon dioxide (CO2) emission. A new approach based on 'cluster first route second' strategy is proposed. Firstly, the cluster problem is solved using green p-median model to determine depots' location and its covered cities with considering depot opening and running costs and CO2 consumption costs between cities. Secondly, the vehicle routing problem is solved using a MILP while minimising the shortest route and CO2 emission among a depot and covered cities. Effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated with employing different policies within a visual dynamic system, which was developed to allow users to create and discuss alternative routes by using their cost and demand data.
