Discussing social business – again: an interview with Professor Muhammad Yunus
http://www.inderscience.com/link.php?id=128560
Five years after his first interview with Professor Muhammad Yunus the author of this article had the opportunity to conduct an interview with him again. The issues discussed are Yunus' vision for 2050, the current corona crisis and the necessary institutional changes for a global sustainable development. I.e., Yunus refers to the education system and urges young people to found enterprises themselves instead of seeking a job. He also stresses the importance of following a new path as a society because of the danger of global warming. Finally, Yunus made some personal remarks on what he calls superhappiness and his motivation for enhancing the concept of social business worldwide.

Effects of a street tour project on public attitudes toward homeless people, and a tarnished city district
http://www.inderscience.com/link.php?id=128562
In many countries, homelessness has become a widespread social problem in large cities. The aim of this paper was to explore the outcomes of Hidden Taipei, a street tour project aligned with the concept of social entrepreneurship, which trains local homeless people to become tour guides. Questionnaire surveys were carried out in the Wanhua District, which has the largest congregation of homeless people in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. Questionnaires were distributed to participants of street tours before and after their tours; 309 valid questionnaires were obtained. Our findings showed that participants positively evaluated the interpretation abilities of homeless tour guides (HTGs) and were extremely satisfied with the tours. After the tours, participants' attitudes toward homeless people changed significantly. Moreover, participants' positive emotions toward the district, and sense of safety in the tarnished Wanhua District increased.

Providing clean water to rural villages: a cost-effectiveness analysis of boreholes versus purification sachets
http://www.inderscience.com/link.php?id=128564
Clean, reliable water access remains a challenge in rural communities throughout the developing world. A number of alternatives are available for combating infrastructure shortfalls, ranging from water purification methods to infrastructure developments such as drilling of boreholes. We apply economic valuation methods to compare two such options for providing clean water to rural communities in various countries. Cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analyses demonstrate the benefits relative to the costs of providing clean water by drilling boreholes versus using water purification sachets. We compare short-run and long-run costs and value the health benefits of clean water to demonstrate a lower incremental cost effectiveness ratio for boreholes. We also value the difference in time spent collecting water and calculate the internal rate of return for borehole installation. The social return on investing in boreholes is high across all settings analysed.

The global performance and the organisational legitimacy of cooperatives, what is the link?
http://www.inderscience.com/link.php?id=128565
This article aims to answer the question how global performance influences organisational legitimacy in the context of social and solidarity economy organisations, in this case, cooperatives. In this perspective, we proceed, first, by a literature review drawing up the inventory of the two concepts allowing the development of a conceptual model. This model is then validated on the basis of an empirical study, carried out using a quantitative approach, and carried out among cooperatives located in the Agadir Ida Outanane prefecture (Morocco) to verify the existence of a link between their global performance and their organisational legitimacy. The data collected is processed using the method of structural equations explaining the causal relationships between the dimensions of the two variables studied. The results affirm the significant and positive impact between the two dimensions in the structures studied.

Critical evaluation of Blake and Mouton's managerial grid: a study of employees of IT sector in India
http://www.inderscience.com/link.php?id=128571
The aim of the study is to determine the leadership style used in the IT sector at various managerial levels by applying the Blake and Mouton managerial grid, which was statistically, validated using parametric tests. Using a structured questionnaire, a primary survey of 290 IT professionals was carried for the study. The data collection period lasted approximately four months, from March 2022 to June 2022. The snowball sampling method had been used, and the respondent who was first identified helped to recommend further relevant individuals for the study. After extensive analysis of data, managerial grid was formulated on the scale of 0 to 9 at different managerial levels and was statistically tested through various parametric tests. Findings of the study will help strategists in the IT sector gain insight into the key personnel issues facing various levels of employees in their organisation.
