Information systems contain many subsystems in an organisation. The field of study encompasses various disciplines in social science, computer science, information and communications technologies, management, multimedia, etc. It is multidisciplinary in nature. The mission of an information-systems professional is to turn the systems into organisational values. This requires innovative, communication, technical, people, management, and valuation skills. One must keep abreast of the advances of knowledge, methods, phenomena, and technologies in the field, and apply them to managing an organisation.

   Objectives

The objectives of IJISAM are to develop, promote and coordinate the development and practice of information systems theories and methods. It also aims to help professionals, business educators and policy-makers to contribute know-how, to disseminate information, and to learn from each other. The international dimension is emphasised in order to overcome cultural and national barriers and to meet the needs of accelerating technological and organisational changes in the global community.

   Contents

IJISAM publishes original and review papers, technical reports, case studies and research notes. Contributions may be by submission or invitation, and suggestions for Special Issues and publications are welcome.

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and the author has cleared any necessary permissions with the copyright owner if it has been previously copyrighted). All authors must declare they have read and agreed to the content of the submitted manuscript. A full statement of our Ethical Guidelines for Authors is available.
