Earthquakes are among the most terrifying and destructive natural disasters threatening humans. As the horrors of the Sichuan earthquake in China of May 2008 continue to be a threat to people’s lives, and the number of dead is expected to rise to more than fifty thousand, we have to study the lessons from the earthquake disaster as an opportunity to prepare ourselves better for future disasters.
