The field of mobile ad-hoc networking has undergone rapid development over the past decade. With much of the technology originating from wired networks, there is a growing recognition that new research that considers the challenges of the quality of the wireless signal, mobility, and environmental topology in scope is needed to advance MANETs beyond the present state of development.
