But it has further sparked fears of great recession due to global lock down with no economic activities. Current paper examines the impact of current pandemic and relevant stimulus packages on UAE economy by using input-output analysis. Overall, results show that these measures have positive effect on aggregate sectoral output level. With the increase in production, it is estimated that this will further lead to a per annum increase of 2.9% of GDP in coming four years' time. In summary, the key findings suggest that in current lock down and economic turmoil the main aim is not to increase the overall GDP, but to relieve those who deprived from their normal incomes. In this regard, UAE has effective fiscal and monetary policies to rehabilitate the economy from COVID-19 crisis and move towards sustainable growth. Journal: Int. While pursuing the research objective thus formulated, the following hypothesis was put forward: The use of industrial robots reduces the share of young people, especially men, in the total employment in manufacturing. The spatial scope of the analysis covers seven EU member countries, i.e., the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. The time range covers the years 2011-2018. All the new technologies that make up Industry 4.0 accelerate industry transformation processes, additionally transforming the labour market. The fastest growing market is that for industrial robots which are increasingly used in enterprises and directly affect labour demand. The demand for young people's work only increased in countries that present a low robotisation rate and an outdated structure of manufacturing activity. Journal: Int. Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about changes in how people work, especially in how employees coordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders. In our preliminary empirical research aim, we therefore examined how companies have coped with the sudden changes induced by the pandemic, particularly by exploring challenges with and solutions for implementing the practices of new learning organisations (NLO) and knowledge sharing in Indonesia during the COVID-19 era. We collected primary data from semi-structured interviews with 28 participants in twelve industries in the Indonesian provinces. Interview questions addressed the six disciplines of NLOs and their challenges during large-scale social restrictions. The findings show that NLOs could be optimally implemented if the organisations have already fulfilled the prerequisite of having a digital transformation culture in place, which requires digital leadership. We used dataset of 3248 firm-year observations of A-share listed firms in China from (2012-2020). The CSRD issued by Chinese Stock Exchange and the Accounting Research Database (CSMAR) is used to measure CSR information. The Corporate GIP of a firm is considered and measured by examining the total number of green patents. Finally, multiple regression and fixed effects models were used. The results reveal that CSRD has an affirmative and significant impact on the relationship between corporate GIP and R%D investment which implies the compensatory and supportive role of CSR strategies in shape of green signals in the green outcomes. This research could support managers and policymakers of underdeveloped nations in establishing environmental innovation strategies for corporate sustainability. Journal: Int. Empirical evidence implies there is a significant quadratic and cubic relationships between economic development and control of corruption of ASEAN countries. Corruption decreases in a country as income increases, but it rises at a moderate level of income. Finally, the level of corruption can be effectively controlled when the country achieves a much higher level of income than the intermediate level. The establishment of an empirical study on the corruption-growth relationship in ASEAN can contribute to a continuum of research and raise awareness to building a better governance environment at all levels. Our preliminary findings indicate strong evidence in favour of the rejection of the hypothesis of unbiasedness of our selected national implied volatilities. Such findings are by and large compatible with general consensus emerging from literature highlighting the existence of the variance premiums. We extend the analysis to focus on the responses of the variance premiums to such announcements. We find supportive evidence that asset purchase program announcements likely involved the risk-taking channel given that the variance premiums are substantially influenced by monetary surprises embedded in such announcements. It is important to recognise that the risk-taking channel is mostly confined to the SMP programme. Finally, our findings highlight, not surprisingly, an obvious difference in the reactions of the variance premiums to monetary surprises between the crisis and post crisis periods. Journal: Int. These benefits can be achieved by expanding export volumes or improving trade structure and core competitiveness based on excellent quality and high-technology content. This paper analyses the trade competitiveness of the Chinese medical device industry by using the trade competitiveness (TC) index, revealed comparative advantage (RCA) index, competitive advantage (CA) index, and Grubel and Lloyd (GL) index. The different trade indices provide a measure of the competitive status of the Chinese medical device industry and its evolving trends. The results from this study imply that the competitiveness of Chinese medical devices has gradually weakened from 2007 to 2019. In detail: medical dressings, health protection and recovery products have a competitive advantage in the global market; whilst medical disposable products, dental equipment and materials have no obvious competitive advantage; medical diagnosis and treatment devices do not have a competitive advantage. Positive measures are being taken by the Chinese government to ameliorate the current deterioration in the competitiveness of Chinese medical devices. Journal: Int. A survey of 387 Canadian immigrants, predominantly from the South Asian countries, i.e., Pakistan and India, was conducted. The data was then analysed using SmartPLS 3.2.8. The study reveals that perceived structural support (PStS) is a weak pointer of entrepreneurial intentions. Instead, personal attributes, i.e., self-efficacy and internal locus of control, contribute to entrepreneurial intentions. The outcomes also raise questions about the Canadian government's immigration strategy, which chooses foreigners based on financial potential and not on starting their own business. The study serves as a guideline for policymakers that if immigrants carrying personal attributes of high self-efficacy provided social support in the immigrant country, they could quickly start a new business. The categorisation of the products corresponds to the Statistical classification of products by activity (CPA). This paper exploits the modified index of revealed comparative advantages-the revealed symmetric comparative advantages (RSCA) and the trade balance index (TBI). Econometric models using the RSCA were applied for testing stability and specialisation trends of a country's trade. The results show that the Czech Republic and Hungary had the biggest changes in comparative advantages in 2009-2011, Poland and Slovakia in 2011-2015. The findings indicate space for increasing export performance and specialisation of these V4 countries on the intra-EU market in the short and long-run. Journal: Int. Using the number of citations received by inventions as a proxy for the quality of innovation and the Herfindahl index to measure cultural diversity in a team of inventors, we find that both the mere presence of foreigners in applications as well as greater cultural diversity in a team of inventors, significantly improves the quality of Polish technical solutions. We obtained similar results at the level of Polish regions, although in this case the positive relationship between cultural diversity and innovation was not always significant, and in the case of one voivodeship, cultural diversity even reduced the quality of inventions created there. Therefore, a total of eleven commercial banks traded on Borsa Istanbul (BIST) have been included in the study. Since the performance of these commercial banks is evaluated in terms of multiple selected financial ratios (criteria), this study points out that it may be considered as a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. Therefore, two effective MCDM techniques have been used in the performance evaluation process of the study. The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of eleven commercial banks traded on BIST with a set of reasonable assessment criteria by using the integration of the criteria importance through intercriteria correlation (CRITIC) and weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) methods for the year 2018. The dissonance increases when they feel the compulsion to raise voice because it becomes necessary for the organisation's betterment. Here, support from the organisation comes in to play while the employee decides to speak up. This research explores the reason why salesperson's voice is vital to the organisation and how organisational support can promote it, which implies an obligation on salespersons to share the relevant information (received as a result of customer feedback) to help the organisation in making effective decisions related to marketing or sales of products/service. The research outcome revealed that perceived organisational support (POS) enhances the felt obligation for constructive change (FOCC) among the salesperson; both have a positive and significant influence on employee voice behaviour. The paper also provides various implications and suggestions for future researches in the area of voice. Journal: Int. The uniqueness of the paper is achieved due to a new interpretation of the results of international trade in modern global markets, which involves taking into account international trade in goods, services, and capital. A significant part of the increase in foreign trade turnover of high-tech goods (an increase of 57.24%) and foreign trade turnover of ICT services (an increase of 159.42%) can be achieved on the basis of intellectual economic growth in the "knowledge economy". This will increase the foreign trade turnover of goods and services by 137.99%, the balance of foreign trade in goods and services by 285.91%, and the foreign trade turnover of capital by 351.11%. The primary data was collected from organic food consumers. The relationship between CK, ECs, SNs as independent variables (IVs) and CA and PI as dependent variables (DVs) was tested using structural equation modelling method. The, CK (the knowledge customers have about brand), ECs of the consumers and SNs prevailing in the society significantly affect CA towards organic food brands. The variables CK and ECs do not contribute significantly to PI, whereas, SNs and CA effect PI significantly. CA mediates the relationships between CK - PI and EC - PI fully and the relationship between SN and PI partially. The current study has contributed significantly in understanding the process of developing CA towards organic food products (OFP) and the way CA can be leveraged to improve PI for OFP. Journal: Int. In behavioural finance where human factor is involved, role of cognition becomes inevitable. Before investing many factors come to investor's mind, which may regulate the decisions related to investments. The principal aim of this paper is to fill the gap by analysing the sway of heuristics while taking decisions by an investor. The study used primary data collection method to collect responses from the investors; in all, 234 questionnaires were circulated and out of them 200 were found inclusive. Researcher carefully examined and included those respondents, who were novice and took help of set plans or strategies to decide their portfolio. The study is useful in the field of investment decisions of the different investors who belongs to the different demographics. The originality of this research consists in studying international trade in global markets from the positions of financial effectiveness; novelty is due to consideration of the specifics of developed and developing countries during international trade in global markets. In developed countries, it is recommended to achieve growth of efficiency by 43.63%, for the purpose of raising high-technology exports by 10.29%. This could be achieved based on moderate further automatisation. In developing countries, there's a necessity for multiple (by 840.91%) growth of GDP per hour worked, for the purpose of increasing high-technology exports by 268.83%. This will require total automatisation. In countries of both categories, it is recommended to refuse from specialisation in the processing industry and to conduct digital modernisation in various spheres of economy. Journal: Int. This study aims to determine stock return volatility in the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the pandemic. The data used are the daily composite stock price index for the Indonesia Stock Exchange from March 3, 2020 to July 27, 2020. The data analysis uses a threshold generalised autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity asymmetric model. The negative threshold coefficient value indicates that the effect of good news received by stock returns can be greater than that of bad news. When a shock occurs, the stock return volatility cannot have a large effect, but when the shock starts to subside, the stock return moves back to stability. The effect of generalised autoregressive conditional is dominant. The forecast of future trend variance based on past variance is significant, consistent with situations during the COVID-19 pandemic where the level of market uncertainty is high. Journal: Int. The results indicated that energy prices hold a positive influence on the bitcoin market in long-run on extreme market conditions (bearish and bullish market state). In short-terms, the results failed to find the significant role of natural gas and gasoline prices in driving bitcoin returns. The findings of causality-in-quantile reported the presence of the uni-directional causal relationship from energy commodities to bitcoin. Interestingly, the findings reported that in bullish market, the causal link between crude oil and bitcoin exhibits feedback effect indicating that when the market is generating higher returns, both the critical variables drive the returns of each other. The outcomes have implication for investors regarding the relevance of energy commodities with bitcoin and their contribution in its valuation to support efficient risk management. Journal: Int. This research is interested to study especially in the era of the Covid 19 pandemic. This type of research is causal research with 250 respondents. The result shows that eight hypotheses are supported while two hypotheses are rejected. The rejected hypotheses are the effect of destination appearance and reputation to perceived value. The biggest influence in creating revisit intention is the perceived value because the compatibility between the health protocols required by the government and the protocols applied at tourist sites is the first and most important impression for customers. The reasons behind these changes are systemic contradictions that can be interpreted as necessary and sufficient conditions for evolutionary development. To study high-quality mechanisms of the evolutionary development, conditions for the emergence of a new economic system, the operation of complex semistructured economic systems, dialectical analysis is needed. The qualitative characteristics of the mechanism of the evolution of economic systems have been presented in various phases of their development and the mechanism of their change. It has been demonstrated that the change of economic systems occurs based on the resolution of the dialectical contradiction. The use of the dialectical approach, supplemented by the mechanism of motion of a certain amount of entropy and bifurcations, makes it possible to comprehend the dialectics of the 'decline' of old economic systems and the 'genesis' of new economic systems. Toda Yamamoto causality test is used examine lead lag relationship in derivative and spot price of cotton. The empirical test concludes that short term as well as long-term relationship exists between a derivative contract of cotton and spot price of cotton. Convergence is also found in spot price and derivative contract in short term and long term. As derivative contract of efficient, so farmers and consumers can use the derivative contract for managing price ambiguity. Bidirectional relationship exists between a derivative contract of cotton and spot cotton. It means that spot price of cotton has impact on derivative contract of cotton and derivative contract of cotton has impact on spot price of cotton. The originality of this research is as follows: firstly, social and technological barriers are differentiated and studied separately for the first time. This allows for precise determination of the nature of the limits of involvement of intelligent machines in socio-economic relations in emerging economies and for substantiation of the best approach to dealing with these limits: either the development of infrastructure or development of information society. Secondly, a systemic analysis of the limits of involvement of intelligent machines in socio-economic relations in emerging economies with the help of the authors' method of multicriteria evaluation is performed. Thirdly, the limits are considered not only from the positions of their influence on the result but also from the positions of manageability. Journal: Int. By applying the Autoregressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL), we found a long-run cointegration among only 3 of 12 and 2 of 20 possible combinations in the BRIC and BRICS pairings, respectively. However, the observed limited cointegration did not hold in reverse order, thereby casting doubt on the existence of any long-run relationship. As a result, we concluded that the leading emerging bond markets are independent and signal improved diversification opportunities in recent time. Journal: Int. This study suggests that sustainability report comprehensiveness does not significantly affect information asymmetry. Instead, sustainability report assurance significantly affects information asymmetry. Moreover, higher quality assurance can weaken the negative effect of sustainability report comprehensiveness on analyst forecast accuracy. This study also suggests that a high investor protection level can strengthen the negative effect of sustainability report comprehensiveness on information asymmetry. Sustainability report assurance reduces information asymmetry in countries with strong investor protection levels better. Journal: Int. In 2017, Korea revised several acts related to reforming its auditing sector. This paper examines whether audit efficiency has improved in the pre- and post-reform periods and investigates the impact of audit firms' human resource inputs on audit efficiency. We found that the technical efficiency of audits provided by non-Big Four firms in the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) market decreased significantly for three years before and after the 2017 audit reform. The Big Four (Big4) utilised quality reviewers and other experts more efficiently than non-Big4 firms, while non-Big4 firms made better use of certified public accountants (CPAs) and apprentice CPAs than the Big4. The findings can help understand the economic consequences of audit reform in countries undergoing audit sector reform. Journal: Int. The originality of the research is that it contains for the first time selected areas - the first: the development of high-tech industries based on intelligent machines and the second: the development of medium-tech industries based on digital personnel - that are clearly distinguished and considered as an alternative. The uniqueness of the paper is that it presents a new view of the organisation of international trade and intellectual resources of production - from a risk perspective. As a result, a risk-oriented approach to the organisation of international trade and intellectual resources of production has been developed, involving the reliance on high technologies and intelligent machines, that is, the implementation of the first scenario. Abstract: This study used the random effects regression model to investigate the effect of the interaction between working capital management and board composition on firms' economic value added (EVA) and market value added (MVA) for a sample of listed firms in Thailand from 2010 to 2019. The current study is the first to provide significant evidence that the synergy of working capital management and board characteristics impacts to increase and decrease the long-term firm value. This indicates that corporate policies are jointly relevant and, thus, firms should not focus only on independent policies but rather on their suite of policies as a whole. This study provides the essential implications to international markets as Thai's listed firms are related to foreign investors and they are also a multinational corporation (MNC). Journal: Int. In addition to aspects relating to macroeconomic issues, micro attributes could uncover the reason of people's support and preference for FTA. This study aims to examine whether various micro elements can influence individuals' support for FTA in Thailand. Logit and marginal effect are used for the analysis. The result shows the explanatory power of such factors as national pride, job creation opportunities, and the awareness of the FTA's benefits, in explaining the probability of persons' support and preference for FTA. This knowledge could provide important clue for the authorities involved in administrating the country's trade policy. Journal: Int. This study aims to provide preliminary observation on the first phase of IFRS 9 implementation in Indonesian banking, as the most affected industry, especially concerning the impairment allowances increase and its relationship with bank characteristics. This observation is important to explore as it may represent how the standard is applied in emerging economies. Using quantitative methods and data analysis techniques, this study processes data from quarterly financial reports of Indonesian listed banks. The result finds that the loan loss provision is increased significantly from the effect of the IFRS 9. Further analysis shows that banks with a higher ratio of nonperforming loans (NPLs) and larger sizes tend to have a higher impact on the increase in loan loss provision. Journal: Int.
