Title: Analysing key indicators of website service quality using Kano and DANP hybrid model
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to identify key indicators for improving the quality of the website and ranking them in the context of hotel industry. A survey involving tourists who use websites for booking hotel rooms has been conducted. Data were gathered by using a Kano questionnaire and a pairwise comparison based on DANP model. Data analysis in this research was based on the Kano integrated tools and multi-criteria decision-making using Super Decision and Excel software. The empirical results of the Kano model suggest customers considered the criteria of information, trust, ease of use as a 'must be' indicator. Interactivity, relative advantage and intuitive operations are classified as one-dimensional features and attractive indicator include response time, visual appeal, innovativeness, emotional appeal, consistent image and tailored communication. Meanwhile, the variables related to must-be indicator has the most important, and then the one-dimensional variables and finally attractiveness indicator were obtained next rank from the customer's point of view.

Abstract:
There has been a growing interest among scholars in intangible organisational capitalism recent years. The main purpose of this study was to examine the role of human resources management tasks in organisational learning. In fact, efforts have been made to identify the supporting strategies and policies through which human resources management tasks affect organisational learning in Eghtesad Novin Bank, using grounded theory. In this research, theoretical sampling and deep interview (non-structured and semi-structured), observation and study of documents and reports have been used. In the process of theoretical sampling, those people were referred, who helped more in explaining codes, concepts, and categories. Axial categories included individual learning capacity, attracting and recruiting system, employee development system, service compensation and performance management system, employee relationship and participation system, organisational learning capability, information repository, organisational learning, and increased competitiveness. These propositions have been extracted in the form of 102 codes, 55 concepts and 25 categories. Titles for the categories have been selected through researcher's suggestion (with reference to the research literature) and approval of participants, and have intended to have the highest possible correspondence with the propositions that they represent.

Title: Taylor series solution of a single server queueing model with feedback
Abstract:
In multi-access systems, scheduling mechanism often require a proper feedback policy. In this article, we compute transient state probabilities of the classical single server Markovian queueing system with feedback. The method demonstrated in present study involves direct and practical steps for deriving explicit expression for queue size distribution. The present method avoids involvement of any special function (e.g., Bessel function), transformation (e.g., Laplace transform) or/and complex analysis. The resulting Taylor series for queue size distribution are proved to converge for all time under arbitrary initial condition. This approach is easy to understand and to extend for a more advanced queueing system otherwise another solution technique is very complicated when compared to this technique. For example, if we use Laplace technique then Rouch theorem will be used to find the roots and it is very difficult to obtain the roots by using any other method.

Title: Development of a composite dynamic capability index for benchmarking new product development performance: an empirical study among industries in electronics sector
Abstract:
The study is an attempt to develop a unique composite dynamic capability index to assess the capability of the new product development (NPD) unit and benchmark its performance with respect to competition. Combining the concepts of dynamic capability, quality management capability and data envelopment analysis (DEA), a unique composite dynamic capability index is proposed. New product development (NPD) units in the electronics industry are specifically chosen for the study due to its environmental dynamism where dynamic capabilities play a significant role in maintaining competitiveness. The proposed index is validated through an empirical study among 50 NPD units in the electronics manufacturing sector. The index is able to explain 71.1% of the variance in competitive performance, 62.8% variance in customer satisfaction and 46.8% variance in development time - three of the four NPD performance parameters chosen for analysis. The application of DEA suggests specific targets for improving the efficiency of the NPD process.

Title: Developing a model to assess the organisational readiness for business process reengineering implementation (case study: a manufacturing firm)
Abstract:
Implementing the business process reengineering (BPR) projects needs essential organisational prerequisites. Lacking proper infrastructures and prerequisite cause harmful effects and make the BPR unprofitable. It is suggested to introduce the readiness assessment in order to decrease such risks and measure the company's tendency for BPR implementation. In this research, BPR implementation readiness assessing factors have been extracted from previous researches. The required data is gathered through questionnaires which distributed among 229 BPR, BPM, and quality management experts. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) method was used to evaluate test score validity. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), structural equation modelling (SEM) methods and AMOS 18 tested the proposed model and determined the factors importance. Study results show that cultural factors, strategic factors, and project management factors are the most important factors to assess the organisational readiness for BPR implementation.

Title: DEMATEL method for evaluating FMS variables in the Indian manufacturing industry
Abstract:
The main aim of this present research work is to evaluate the variables that can affect the flexibility of FMS in the Indian manufacturing industry by exploring the cause-effect relationships among them using DEMATEL 'decision making trial and evaluation laboratory' approach. Fifteen variables that have an impact on the flexibility of FMS pertaining to the Indian manufacturing industry have been explored through considerable review of existing literature and viewpoints of the experts from the industry and academia. DEMATEL approach has been used to evaluate the interrelationships among these variables and to explore the areas of improvements in the FMS processes by observing the casual diagram. The cause-effect diagram will assist the decision makers in conceptualising the FMS as system approach and managers in manufacturing industry can further prioritise the variables affecting flexibility in FMS by analysing the degree of interrelationships among them as their comprehensive impact on the system.

Title: Non-serial feedback queue model with four servers providing at most once revisit facility with distinct transition probabilities
Abstract:
The present paper deals with the mathematical modelling of non-serial feedback queue system consisting of four servers. The customer entering into the system may get the required service at any one or more out of these four service channels. In case the service provided at any of these service channels remains unsuccessful, then maximum one time revisit facility is available to the customer to get successful service. Transition probabilities of customer for leaving any server to move from one server to another in second visit have been assumed distinct from that in first visit. Model is made clear with the help of numerical illustration.

Title: Optimisation and prediction of machining parameters in EDM for Al-ZrO2 using soft computing techniques with Taguchi method
Abstract:
In recent years, the usage of metal matrix composites has drastically increased in various engineering fields and hence the necessity for greater accuracy in machining of composites has also increased greatly. This study determines the optimal machining parameters viz., discharge current, pulse on time and voltage with respect to output performance such as material removal rate (MRR) and electrode wear rate (EWR) using electric discharge machine (EDM). Taguchi method is used for conducting experiments. Soft computing models such as artificial neural network (ANN) and fuzzy are developed to predict the process parameters. The developed models are validated with the experimental results. The results of both the models are also compared.

Title: Providing a model for the compensation in project-based organisations with a grounded theory approach
Abstract:
The aims of this study provide a model for the compensation in project-based organisations in Iran. This study was an applied research and the research method was descriptive survey. The results showed that the causal conditions affecting the motivation of employees as the pivotal group included the areas of characteristics of the project-based organisation, individual factors of human resources, organisational structure, and management factors. The intervening factors also included internal environment of the organisation, extra role behaviours, and psychological contracts, which, considering the underlying factors, including business perspective structure and macro structure of the country, affected the compensation in project-based organisations. Moreover, the proposed strategies were variable payments for the compensation (being shared in some percentage of project earnings, compensation based on performance evaluation and reward payment), prioritising need for respect and self-flourishing and professional employee empowerment that led to positive consequences of improvements in the compensation in organisations.

Title: How to increase organisational learning and knowledge sharing through human resource management processes?
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine how human resource management (HRM) processes and knowledge sharing affect organisational learning within the context of steel industry. Drawing from the literature on HRM, this study hypothesises and tests the relationship between HRM processes, knowledge sharing and organisational learning. The authors used survey research to collect the data. The PLS path modelling approach was used to analyse the data and the conceptual model. The empirical results from the structural model suggest that three out of five HRM processes (i.e., training, job design and job quality) influenced knowledge sharing. Furthermore, knowledge sharing was a direct antecedent of organisational learning.

Title: Holistic approach of optimising cross-docking in supply chain
Abstract:
An initiative took in 1930s by the US trucking industries, cross-docking. The aim behind the initiative was to have lower inventory levels and optimised lead times by having an unbroken flow of product/material from the supplier to the end-customer. In order to have the seamless flow one must ensure that the operations are synchronising. Hence the optimisation of the overall supply chain to be more efficient in terms of lead time and cost, requires an interconnected and explicable connection of all the factors that has to be taken into consideration. The study conducted takes a real time model as an example and illustrates how cross-docking can be managed more holistically to synchronise cross-docking operations at the distribution centre with its inbound and outbound network logistics.

Title: Governance at stake: a case of ICICI Bank, India
Abstract:
Corporate governance determines the allocation of authority and responsibilities by which the business and affairs of an organisation are carried out by its board and senior management. It plays a far more vital role in the institutions which handle public funds. Banks perform a crucial role in the economy by intermediating funds from savers and depositors. The framework of corporate governance deployed in the banks has to be robust and contextually relevant. Present case of ICICI Bank has challenged the existing framework. The MD and CEO of ICICI Bank, Ms. Chanda Kochhar, is alleged to be involved in the non-performing asset deal of Videocon-Nupower without proper disclosure of interest, which resulted in an accusation of nepotism against her. The paper will analyse in detail this case from the perspective of corporate governance failure and suggest new dimensions which need to be incorporated.

Title: Machinability model and multi-response optimisation of process parameters through regression and utility concept
Abstract:
Over the years, it is essential to produce appropriate dimensions with quality parts for the use in various automotive components. This paper presents modelling and multi-optimisation exploration on the hard part turning of EN 24 grade steel at 48 HRC with coated carbide multilayer inserts for three roughness factors (Ra, Rz, and Rt). Taguchi L<SMALL>16</SMALL> orthogonal design with three input parameters and three quality characteristics output was applied to suitably model the process requirements. The second model provides a high coefficient of determination (R<SMALL>2</SMALL> = 0.98 for Ra, 0.97 for Rz and 0.95 for Rt respectively) compared with the linear model that demonstrates high significance. The ideal parametric setting for different multiple quality features was found to be the depth of cut (0.4 mm), feed rate (0.04 mm/rev) and cutting speed (200 m/min) respectively. The multi-responses optimisation has been simultaneously performed using Taguchi method and the utility concept.

Title: Towards a new maturity model of industrial performance improvement based on ISO 9001: version 2015 and VDA6.3: version 2016
Abstract:
In this science research explosion century, the competitive economic environment and manufacturers are forced to follow the development and changes to protect their existence with respect of delay, quality and cost challenges, therefore lean manufacturing concepts become part of solution. Contrariwise some manufacturers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) suffer to implement these concepts. This paper's purposes are to define an advanced model of lean manufacturing system (LMS) based on ISO:9001 version 2015 principles and VDA6.3 version 2016 norm and suggest a maturity model to evaluate the maturity level of LMS which has been confirmed through statistical studies. Nevertheless, few works related to this field makes academic research and industry closer, our work falls within this context through the industrial productivity improvement. This paper also proposes some research perspectives aiming to complete this research axis by enhancing the presented model through other industrial experiments and studies.

Title: Enhancing the performance parameters of flexible manufacturing system using decision-making techniques
Abstract:
Due to varying requirements of customers, it became difficult for manufacturing firms to sustain their position in the market. Because of this, firms are finding and implementing new technologies in existing system and flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is one of the solutions for this problem. FMS is an automatic manufacturing system, capable of producing a wide variety of products with good quality. However, the cost of implementing FMS is high. So, decisions related with various parameters in implementing and managing the system, is one of the crucial steps in FMS. In present work, emphasis is done on developing a methodology that can make an appropriate decision of selecting best experiment level, by using simple calculations that can save money and time. For doing so, a relative study of decision-making approaches that combines Shannon entropy and weighted aggregated sum product assessment (WASPAS) method is performed for solving the selection problem of operating conditions. Criteria's weight is calculated first by Shannon entropy method. Later, alternatives were ranked by using calculated weights in WASPAS method. Based on obtained ranking, management could take verdicts for refining the performance parameters of the system.

Title: Classification of Indian tea supply chain - in context of Assam
Abstract:
There exists insufficient literature on classification and taxonomy of Indian tea supply chain (TSC), so the basic objectives of this study are to identify the existing TSCs and classify them accordingly. The paper is based on a three-year detailed field study on TSC in Assam which encompasses tea-estates, small tea gardens (STGs), bought leaf factories (BLFs), research institute, auction centres, branding companies, tea distributors, and retailers. The paper presented an incorporated structure that includes all the stakeholders with their roles in tea value chain. This has not been reported in previous research. The study also develops an integrated tea supply chain framework and apart from this, classifies the tea supply chain in context of Assam, India. The present study will help further research to optimise business operations and maximising the profit of the Indian tea industry.

Title: Using queuing models to set the right parking price
Abstract:
This paper applies queuing models (<i>M/G/N/N</i>) to determine the right price for parking, given that the arrival rate and the staying time depend on the parking price. The models explore the payment per hour and the entrance fee models, with one or several customer types, and where each customer type faces different prices (price discrimination). The models are also applicable for cases where the objective function is to set the park occupancy rate at a desired level. The analysis of the numerical examples demonstrates the applicability of the models and provides some interesting insights about the setting of the correct parking price under the appropriate pricing scheme. The conclusion is that one of the most important tools for process management and benchmarking of a car park is the parking pricing.

Title: Engaging leadership, engaging environment, engaging job, and engagement
Abstract:
The arrival of new workforce generation would necessitate a leadership type transcending traditional boundaries. Organisations must strive to develop a supportive work climate which inspires, strengthens and connects employees to perform their tasks vigorously. This paper primarily seeks to investigate the relationship between engaging leadership and work engagement. With reference to empirical studies and existing research on leadership and work engagement, a positive association between engaging leadership and work engagement mediated by engaging job and engaging environment is confirmed. More importantly, this study deals with the paucity of the structured literature regarding work engagement determinants, and offers a holistic model providing a logical ground for identifying empirical indicators and hypotheses to verify the theory. Apart from extending engaging leadership dimensions, certain paradigms are proposed for jobs and work environment to facilitate work engagement.

Title: Linking social disruption and firm performance
Abstract:
Traditionally the companies were focused on cost reduction by compromising its payoffs to maximise the entire supply chain's profit and its sustainability. Nevertheless, a new concept of socially responsible supply chains can overcome the limitations of traditional model and enhance the company's performance in consideration to triple bottom line approach. Most of the studies done empirically investigates and provide a conceptualised framework on supply chain sustainability but a dearth of studies impacting the socially responsible supply chain effect on the performance of firm, financially as well as socially creates a need of more research in this area. This study focused on four different events of social issues that hampered the company's performance in terms of share prices, revenues, profits and overall image in the eyes of stakeholders. The study includes qualitative as well as quantitative analysis to know the impact of social issues on supply chains leading to disruptions.

Title: A vendor recommendation model using neural networks
Abstract:
Suppliers today are considered as a logical extension to a firm that provide critical inputs to its processes. Supplier performance evaluation is vital for any firm to carry out supplier selection and to practice effective supply chain management. Further, the supplier performance measurement system should continuously evolve in a company as a process for improving the capabilities, execution effectiveness and efficiency. Though the supplier performance systems have been well investigated in the literature, very few studies have proposed an order-based supplier selection approach that takes into account the changing priorities of the customer. The research tries to address this gap by attempting to establish a dynamic linkage between customer order priorities and supplier characteristics. A neural network model for the order driven vendor recommendation system that ranks the suppliers as per the requirements of the order has been proposed.

Title: Towards a LSRO model of industrial performance improvement: a case study of LSRO model implementation in an industrial SME
Abstract:
The globalisation recognised in this century engages the third world to a strange competitive economic environment. The Moroccan Government highlights some emergency decisions to support the small and medium enterprises (SME) like decrease taxes and facilitate enterprise creation cost and procedure however those actions remain insufficient toward the external promotion reflected on delay, quality and cost of products and services. Hence, emergence of lean manufacturing system (LMS) came to resolve this problem by improving productivity and management system. However, for many manufacturers, especially SME, these concepts stay very difficult to implement and maintain. In this perspective, this work aims to overcome the optimum steps to install the advanced LSRO model to improve both productivity and performance with low cost. These implementation steps of LSRO model has been proposed through a case study relating basic concepts of LMS and management by objectives (MBO). Nevertheless, few works related to this field make academic research and industry closer, our work falls within this context through the industrial productivity improvement. This paper also proposes some research perspectives aiming to complete this research axis by enhancing the presented model through other industrial experiments and studies.

Title: Benchmarking and its use in financial analysis of local self-government
Abstract:
Benchmarking was created in the private sector, but now to be successful it is introduced also into the public sector. The aim of the paper is to use the benchmarking indicators for the evaluation of the financial management of municipalities of selected countries. The analysis showed that within the monitored benchmarking indicators, it is possible to observe significant differences between Slovak, Czech and Polish municipalities within their financial management. At the same time, the analysis also pointed to the fact that the financial management of municipalities in all analysed countries, despite fiscal decentralisation is still strongly influenced by the state.

Title: An integrated benchmarking efficiency analysis of the Indian banking industry using data envelopment analysis
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to study the performance of Indian private sector banks to conclude meaningful insights. This paper analysed the efficiency of 16 private sector banks operating in India for the period 2015-2017 using data envelopment analysis (DEA), Malmquist productivity index (MPI) and stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) which are the latest powerful efficiency measurement techniques. MPI indicates that only 9 out of 16 private banks or 56.25% private banks have been progressed in terms of MPI during the period 2015-2017. Stochastic frontier analysis shows that a number of employees and no of branches can be considered to driving force for influencing the efficiency of Indian private banks. This study seems to be first in applying efficiency using data envelopment analysis, Malmquist productivity index and stochastic frontier analysis for Indian private banks for the period 2015-2017.

Title: Assessment model for BPM maturity in the dimension of strategy
Abstract:
Continuous improvement in organisations and knowledge of the current status of processes requires the use of BPM maturity models. Organisations use these maturity models to evaluate and serve as guidance for improvement. So far, several maturity models have been developed by various researchers, each of which has focused on different dimensions of BPM. A new approach to the development of these models is to provide maturity models focused on one dimension. Special maturity models for process and governance dimensions have been presented. However, due to the special importance of the strategy in BPM, no model has been specifically designed to measure BPM maturity in the strategy dimension. This study tried to analyse the public maturity models for BPM from the angle of strategy and, based on them, was proposed a model for measuring the BPM maturity in the strategy dimension. Finally, the proposed model is implemented in a case study of university.

Title: Assessment for risk of logistics infrastructure projects using analytic network process
Abstract:
Mega construction projects are subject to multiple risks which influence project objectives, such as, cost, quality and time. Risk intensity varies across different stages of the life cycle of the project. While most of the studies in risk management have been on identifying risks in various projects, very few of them have explored risks in air logistics infrastructure development projects. In this study, we have designed risks prioritising model for such projects using analytic network process (ANP) technique with paired risk comparison. The data was collected through extensive literature review and detailed interview/questionnaire inputs from subject matter experts involved in development of mega air logistics development projects. The analysis through ANP technique has revealed comparison of various risks, their interdependencies, their relative ranking based on risk priority indices. This has revealed that the financial and the construction risks play a very important and critical role for the success of infrastructure projects. Finally, the study presents insights into risk implications with their relative importance that will rationalise the management's effort.

Title: Examining the bi-directional relationship between motivation and satisfaction: based on the impact of psychological empowerment
Abstract:
The aim of this study is to contribute to the scant studies on faculty members' psychological empowerment (PE). This is done by examining: 1) PE from a multi-dimensional perspective based on the individual components and job characteristic components; 2) how PE affects the faculty members' motivation and satisfaction. Further this study examines the bi-directional relationship between motivation and satisfaction. A total of 402 responses were collected from the faculty members working in the technical institutions in India. Hypothesised relationships were examined and established by using the structural equation modelling and rank correlation techniques. Findings emphasise the significant impact of PE on enhancing the faculty members' motivation and satisfaction. Also, there was limited support to determine the bi-directional relationship between motivation and satisfaction. Further, the implication of the present findings suggests that the proposed framework will act as a benchmarking tool to measure the psychological empowerment of the faculty members.

Title: Reliability analysis of variables of environmental management in Indian micro scale industries and SMEs
Abstract:
Performance parameters of environmental management system (EMS), based on HR dimensions and organisational dimensions are important measures for the successful implementation of EMS in any manufacturing industry. This paper identifies the various EMS variables for the successful implementation of EMS in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of India. Various measures of collected data of survey of Indian micro scale industries and SMEs have been validated and analysed by using SPSS software. The collected data have been analysed by statistical tools like importance-index and corrected item minus total correlation (CIMTC) methods and reliability of these data has been tested by Cronbach's alpha (α) analysis. The computed results show that the identified measures are highly reliable for implementation of EMS in Indian SMEs. This study shows that 53 items out of 54 items of 9 variables are having the values of Cronbach's alpha (α) more than 0.70 and it shows that the collected data are highly reliable for Indian SMEs. It is also found that the values of Cronbach's alpha for the employees' 'empowerment' and 'training' and awareness are above 0.80 and rest variables have the values of Cronbach's alpha (α) in the range of 0.50-0.80 for micro scale Indian industries.

Title: Development of geometry spot weld distribution model to improve efficiency of automotive body shop
Abstract:
In conventional car body process planning, parts and spots of an assembly get evenly distributed in geometry fixtures. The remaining spots, over and above the cycle time of the geometry stations are moved to re-spot stations. Global trend indicates that percentages of geometry fixtures are higher in manual body shops with less than 40% of automation. The percentage of geometry stations varies up to 14% in 100% automated body shops. This trend shows the inappropriate planning of geometry and re-spot stations for manual and automated lines. A geometry spot distribution model has been developed to resolve this concern. The proposed model can be used to calculate the appropriate geometry and re-spot stations required for a lean body shop. Improvement in quality establishment and productivity of the body shop are discussed. The developed methodology is simple to use during any new product development phase and also for existing body shop optimisation.

Title: Effect of perceived support on employee's voice behaviour through the work engagement: a moderator role of locus of control
Abstract:
This study primarily aimed to identify the direct effect of perceived support on the employees' voice behaviour in the workplace. It examined knowledge interactive impact of locus of control on the perceived support of work engagement. Accordingly, this study was built on literature of voice behaviour and as such, it employed a survey methodology. The study focused on a government sector firm, specifically Basra Electricity Production. The data collection tool used is the questionnaire and it was distributed to 333 employees in the firm. The collected data was analysed using AMOS version 22. Based on the results, work engagement fully mediates the relationship between perceived support and employee voice behaviour, while external locus of control moderated the relationship between perceived support and work engagement. Suggestions were provided for several avenues for future studies.

Title: Application of artificial neural network techniques in computer aided process planning - a review
Abstract:
Computer aided process planning (CAPP) bridges the gap between computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing. CAPP research includes neural network approaches, knowledge-based techniques, Petri nets, agent- based, fuzzy set theory, genetic algorithm, standard for the exchange of product model data (STEP)-Compliant CAPP and internet-based techniques. This study mainly focuses on the application of the artificial neural network (ANN) techniques in CAPP because of their learning ability and huge potential toward dynamic planning. The role of an artificial neural network in feature recognition, machine selection, operation and machine tool selection are emphasised in detail in this survey paper.

Title: On the benchmarking of port performance. A cosine similarity approach
Abstract:
The measurement of port performance is not a simple task since there are many variables involved in port operations. Some industry standards are based on key performance indicators, which are the basis to provide management information for planning and control. We propose the use of cosine similarity to gain a better understanding of performance indicators. The concept of 'cosine similarity' is particularly interesting when searching for similarities in big datasets. The name derives from the term 'direction cosine', i.e., two vectors are maximally 'similar' if they are parallel (maximum value of cosine), and maximally 'dissimilar' if they are perpendicular (90° angle means uncorrelated). The methodological procedure presented in this paper allows the detection of similarities and the visualisation of big datasets in an easy way. An empirical case study is used to explore the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Title: Readiness assessment for implementing business process reengineering: case study of a bank in Iran
Abstract:
One of the concepts used to improve and make changes in organisations is business process reengineering (BPR). With regard to the existing challenges and high failure rate in engineering open projects, in this study, the readiness of the studied organisation for implementation of BPR has been assessed. The case studied here is Keshavarzi Bank (Agriculture Bank) in Iranian banking industry. Nine factors were studied including strategic alignment, top management commitment, flatter organisational structures, organisational culture, change management, human resources, IT infrastructures, effective process redesign, and project management. 56 questionnaires were distributed in Keshavarzi Bank headquarters in Tehran using the census method. For data analysis, one-sample t-test was used to understand the status of the research variables, and Friedman test was used to rank the factors. Based on the results, this bank is ready for BPR implementation in terms of strategic alignment, top management commitment, organisational culture, human resources and IT infrastructures.

Title: Linking performance measurements and manufacturing process improvements: the two-stage analytical framework
Abstract:
This article intends to extend the use of network data envelopment analysis (NDEA) to build performance measurement system (PMS) for assessing manufacturing operation performance and setting targets for the process improvements. A new integrated framework is proposed to link the operational NDEA-based PMS with the upper hierarchical level in a manufacturing enterprise, to ensure a strategic fit between the operations and strategy. This two-stage analytical framework is developed based on the process approach technique that enables researchers to develop procedures instead of descriptive theories. A case study is provided to validate the applicability of the proposed framework in a real manufacturing enterprise. The result of the case study shows that the NDEA-based PMS is effective at delivering a holistic view of performance through its composite index, as well as the detailed performance of each process, and providing recommendation of targets to improve the underperforming processes. In the case study, we also illustrate how the NDEA-based PMS can be linked to the enterprise's balanced scorecard.

Title: Benchmarking business excellence practices: a case-based approach
Abstract:
This paper aims to explore the business excellence practices and the relative importance of success factors by taking a case of an Indian manufacturing organisation for benchmarking purpose. A series of structured, semi-structured, in-depth interviews and company annual reports followed by a questionnaire survey were used to examine current business excellence practices and relative importance of success factors so as to benchmark best in-class practices. Factors namely 'teamwork' and 'culture and core values' are found to be very prominent at the case study of organisation ABC and helped them significantly in enhancing their performance. The rest of the factors are in line with the success factors of prominent global business excellence models. The findings of this study in terms of providing a simple template to assess organisations will be of utmost help to make improvements for moving towards business excellence. The present study reveals that there should be a customisation of the success factors for business excellence based on sector and context specificity.

Title: Service sector performance by a non-parametric approach: a critical review
Abstract:
Due to intangibility and heterogeneity of the service sector, measuring and benchmarking the performance is a critical issue. Over the years, many researchers have focused on measuring the performance of the service sector using the non-parametric approach. Present study carried out an extensive literature survey targeting the performance measurement in the service sector using data envelopment analysis (DEA), a non-parametric approach. An attempt has been made primarily to showcase a holistic list of different models of DEA as applicable in diverse sectors in the Indian economy. The implications of the findings will prove beneficial in quantifying pros and cons of the different policy devised by the practitioners in the banking sector of Indian economy. The outcome of the study will be helpful for researchers as well as academicians in identifying the possible models of DEA that may be used to benchmark the performance of the concerned sector while identifying factors that affects the performance.
