The extant researches on sustainability have examined the economic and environmental dimensions. The social proportion, a prime aspect, has some extent overlooked both in method and in review of literature as well. In this study, through in-depth literature review, researcher has been made an effort to execution of socially responsible supply chains through construct a theoretical framework. Relevant constructs like dimensions of socially responsible supply chains along with an obstructions has been identified toward implementing socially responsible supply chain. The proposed framework aims to help the practitioners and the industries to create their supply chain socially liable which will help them move towards an all-inclusive sustainable development. This thorough literature review is extensive and sets the future research agenda that is ignored so far. Journal: Int. Corporate social responsibility has become an important area of activity within the global business community and actors. Governments, businesses and the communities are involved in shaping and implementing CSR policies and related laws. However, how CSR-related laws can be adopted and implemented remains unclear and the subject itself is still under-represented in research. This paper endeavours to answer the question as to how CSR regulations are adopted into business strategies and how they are implemented by transnational corporations in Indonesia. The study found that Indonesia is strongly committed to the implementation of CSR by companies through the enactment of Law No. 40/2007 on Limited Liability Company and other CSR-related policies. Consequently, the study also reveals that the enactment of this law and other related policies has no significant impacts on Chevron's business strategy since it has been implementing these measures long before they were even incorporated into laws. This study suggests that for the sake of efficiency, CSR policies must comply with social norms and values. Journal: Int. It is the food for all faith, Muslim and non-Muslims. Thailand's dream to be the Halal hub in the region must start from the readiness of the country. This paper is an expanded version of the previous research which took Thai Muslim consumers as the samples. This research aims to test the determinants of purchase intention from Thai non-Muslims for Halal packaged food. Multiple regression analysis is applied to the data from 193 respondents representing all four regions in Thailand. It is found that the place, promotion, and awareness are determinants for purchase intention on Halal packaged food. By matching the result of the related research on Thai Muslims, it is concluded that place (product availability) and awareness are determinants of purchase intention of Halal packaged food among both Muslims and non-Muslim in Thailand. In the past decade, BOTs have experienced economic distress, political misdemeanours and rising perceptions of corruption. Lacking public procurement experience, how can these small, remote and socially unequal territories make the most of UK-led reforms? The article proposes inserting social award criteria in Caribbean BOTs' public procurement frameworks using a three-phase roadmap based on inspecting its potential, checking the legal framework and implementing the policy via legislative amendments and guidance. Experiences in the EU, the UK and the Latin America and Caribbean region show successful results, primarily in small communities at the local level. The methodology used is desk-based research leading to a worldwide survey of successful practices and a legal and policy analysis of its application to Caribbean BOTs. Journal: Int. Therefore, project procurement management (PPM) processes are associated with many risks. Hence, APIs are looking for solutions to reduce the probability of risk involved in PPM process. A systematic literature survey (LS) has identified a total 55 risks involved in the PPM process, out of which 14 critical risks were identified by using fuzzy logic with TOPSIS method and results were compared with PROMETHEE method. Blockchain-IoT integrated architecture has been developed to manage the critical risks involved in PPM process and nine strategies are suggested based on architecture. Blockchain-IoT integrated architecture can change PPM process with respect to data (real-time acquisition, storage and accessibility), speed of response and quality of communications, data driven decision-making, and transparent, auditable and trustworthy transactions. Integrated architecture improves the flow of knowledge throughout organisation and reduces person dependent activities. Journal: Int. This paper studies PD in supply chain management (SCM) literature by providing a systematic literature review (SLR) of exclusively high ranked journals in the field of operation management. The authors identified five major issues in supply PD, namely inventory, cash flow, financial decision, supply chain (SC) coordination, and demand. They also discerned a growing trend in the literature related to analytical studies, which limits the generalisation of the findings, mostly due to the various assumptions used in the modelling process. The majority of these papers focused on the retail field because of its coordinated structure. This paper suggests that PD, as a coordination tool, can improve both the supplier's and retailer's profit. The paper concludes by suggesting a conceptual framework that summarises how PD influences the issues addressed above. The authors pinpoint potential future areas such as simulation under dynamic scenarios, including multi-echelon partners in order to better gauge the impact of PD on SC performance. Journal: Int. Supplier development strengthens the management of suppliers and improves their capabilities through knowledge transfer. The article examines how institutionalised supplier development initiatives are associated with knowledge transfer and the moderating role of institutional factors. The article applied multiple regression and moderation analyses on a sample of 171 contractors. Findings reveal that training and the 20% subcontracting policy are significantly associated with knowledge transfer, while the construction finance, preferential, and reservation schemes are not. Regulatory compliance and government support moderate the relationship between institutionalised supplier development and knowledge transfer. Interactions indicate that low regulatory compliance is associated with high knowledge transfer, while government support is associated with high knowledge transfer at all levels. The article contributes to research by demonstrating the influence of regulatory compliance and government support on the implementation of institutionalised supplier development. Journal: Int. This method is significant in the case of deteriorating products. In this paper, an inventory model for the deteriorating items with price and time-dependent ramp type demand is presented with shortages allowed and partially backlogged. The solution procedure is illustrated by numerical examples. The concavity of the profit function with respect to the decision variable is discussed analytically. Numerical analysis shows that the profit per unit time increases with the delay payment facility. Journal: Int. However, there is a dearth of literature on popularity and performance of PPPs in the COVID-19 era, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) where PPP concessions in service delivery are new and increasing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of COVID-19 on PPP concessions and identify appropriate strategies to keep them afloat during uncertain times. Based on systematic review of literature and documents, the study noted that while pandemics such as bubonic plague; Spanish flu; HIV/AIDS; SARS; the avian bird flu and Ebola existed before, they did not plunge the whole world into large-scale socio-economic disruption and lockdowns like COVID-19 pandemic. Continued delivery of public services through PPPs by governments may be frustrated by COVID-19 unless credit guarantee schemes; renegotiating concessions; finance for equity swaps and concession extensions are adopted as requisite strategies. It is obvious that the shortages may occur due to the prolonged repair time. To avoid this issue, we assume that the manufacturer could purchase some quantities from an available supplier with fixed non-zero lead-time. This paper addresses the following question: how much production lot size and purchasing lot size are required to minimise the expected total cost? The model is developed under general machine breakdown and repairs time distributions. The optimality of the model under exponential failure and exponential repair times are studied. For the numerical example, we illustrate the outcome of the proposed model and perform a sensitivity analysis on parameters, which directly influence optimal decisions. Journal: Int. The research allows to compare, in a transparent way, findings of previous studies and promotes added value using for the first time the hedonic price model (HPM) in the hospitality industry in Lisbon, Portugal. Although hotel room price determinants have already been studied, in this study it was introduced physical variables and location variables all together, as well as it was added the variables relating to certain services offered. A significant impact on hotel prices by official stars and OTAs punctuation has been confirmed. In line with previous studies, an additional star and belonging to a chain allow the hotel to increase the price. In addition, other attributes, such as the distance of the hotel from the airport and the centre, have impact on hotel prices. The evidence that the existence of a spa and a pool influences hotel prices will support stakeholders in investment and management decision. Journal: Int. In this paper, we developed two inventory models with instant and delayed deterioration rate. Price and time dependent seasonal demand function is considered. In both the models we have an option that after some successive demand seasons whether we can continue with the same price or we can change the selling price. Analytical and numerical analysis provides important managerial insights. Numerical analysis shows that it better to reduce the price after some initial seasons with instant deterioration while with delayed deterioration selling price must be unchanged for as much as possible seasons. The study used descriptive statistics and multiple regression models to determine the level of significance among selected variables. Findings revealed that green procurement significantly and positively affect firm's performance. The results of the multiple regression analysis revealed that there is no significant effect of supply chain eco-centricity in the relationship between green supply chain management dimensions and firm's performance in the industrial sector, p > 0.05 (p = 0.9057). Conclusively, the result implied that an increase in performance of manufacturing firms is likely through embracing green procurement practices within the upstream of supply chain. Journal: Int. This article describes a newly developed mathematical model in the form of multi-objective optimisation, as an alternative approach that is possibly used to improve a multi-period raw material procurement and product mixing plan under uncertain demands. This process is initiated by the formulation of two objective functions, including the amount of the output to be produced, which ought to be maximised, and the minimisation of raw material procurement cost. Subsequently, a weighted objective function was formulated for use in the calculation of Pareto solution, and the optimisation problem was resolved to obtain ideal values for all decision variables. In addition, numerical experiments were also performed, in the model evaluation, resulting in the peak value for each decision variable. Journal: Int. A web-based survey was applied to two large Australian retailers' SCNs which resulted in receiving 67 completed questionnaires. A cluster analysis was conducted to create a suppliers' power taxonomy. ANOVA and Tukey tests were also used to explain the mean differences in the depth of collaborative relationships. This paper identifies four quadrants for suppliers based on their power at both network and node levels, highlighting the impact of power on the depth of collaboration in each quadrant. The results also indicate that the depth of collaboration between the focal firm and its suppliers increases when the suppliers' power increases at the network level and decreases at the node level. In particular, by applying broaden-and-build theory, it seeks to demonstrate the predictive value of positive affects and individual resources for engagement by incorporating both core-self-evaluations and psychological capital as individual-level determinants of engagement. The research methodology is qualitative with the empirical field. The qualitative data analysis was conducted using content analysis. Hence, it is developmental at result and applicable from goal perspective. With reference to empirical studies and existing research on engagement, the proposed conceptual models through three gain spirals confirms the reciprocal relationships of personal resources-positive affects, positive affects-work engagement, and finally work engagement-personal resources, which is in accordance with the cognitive-affective state of engagement. The study can deepen the insights on how individual resources and positive affects interact in their contribution to work engagement. More importantly, this paper is the first to elucidate the cognitive-emotional nature of work engagement via presenting a comprehensive gain cycle considering individual resources as a cognitive representative, on the one hand, and positive emotions as an affective representative on the other hand. A literature review presents a well-tested questionnaire, which is applied in a survey among members of a national professional organisation in PM. These managers' self-control is found to be higher than in other surveys with other types of managers; their well-being level however is lower. This suggests that PM managers can control their emotion well, but they 'pay the price' in their happiness, optimism and self-esteem. In addition, male managers' self-control and well-being is found to be higher than their female counterparts. Demonstrating the possibility to operationalise EI in a reliable way, this study opens an agenda to relate various EI dimensions to a vast range of endogenous variables such as performance variables and exogenous variables like customer typology, nature of the supply system or the internal arena. Abstract: This study aims to compare the type of organisational commitment in two manufacturing facilities' employees. We also compared the employees' profile to find answers of what kind of employee relates to each type of commitment and why both companies present so different results. An analysis of k-means clusters under the k-nearest neighbour method was carried out for identifying subgroups inside the studied sample which was 254 direct employees. Profiles with elevated affective commitment scores indicate that employees feel emotionally attached to the organisation. Additionally, two analyses of variance were performed: first is identifying significant differences in the dimensions that conform organisational commitment and socio-demographic aspects, such as age, marital status, gender and seniority; second is as a means to identifying differences among items that conform job stability, and the clusters previously identified by k-means clusters analysis. Results show that affective commitment was higher in one of the facilities, while continuance commitment was higher in the other one which is important for the implications that they bring to the involved organisations. To develop business strategies in competitive market, stock-dependent and price-sensitive demand rate is considered to attract more customers. The holding cost and deterioration rate are time-dependent. The product considered has fixed life-time. The model considers the trade-credit policy that is the retailer will offer a certain time period to the customers to settle the account to increase the sales during the permissible period. The objective is to maximise the total cost with respect to cycle time and selling price. The classical optimisation method is used to find the optimal solution. A sensitivity analysis of optimal solutions for different inventory parameters is carried out. The managerial insights are deduced for the retailer. Journal: Int. Products in the inventory system are considered to be deteriorated at a constant rate after a certain time of periods. Preservation technology investments are taken into account to reduce the deterioration rate. The objective of the model is to find the optimal cycle time, selling price, preservation cost and ordering quantity in order to maximise the total profit of retailer. An iterative procedure is proposed to solve the mathematical problems and its application is validated with a numerical example. The results from sensitivity analysis show that by investing money in preservation technology, the retailer can set a cheaper selling price and increase the total profit. It is also observed that the changes in holding cost and cost price significantly affect the optimal values of selling price and cycle time. Journal: Int. It is often seen that in technology market, advanced generation product plays an important role in cannibalising the market of existing generation product. Thus, precise estimation of demand of technology generations' product is critical for taking any policy decisions. Demand estimation of technology products is a complex process, as the consumer buying behaviour of technology generational products is not only depends on marketing mix variables but also associated with the time-to-market phenomenon of new technologies. In technology market, interaction among users of different generational products controls the rate of substitution of older technology products with the new one. Therefore, due to the substitution nature of demand of multi-generation product, it is important to incorporate the interaction-substitution effect in replenishment policies for this kind of products. We used life cycle dynamics to project demand rates of technology generations. In this paper, we formulate the total cost function for five different situations depending upon the new generation introduction timing and length of the trade credit period. A detail sensitivity analysis is been performed to explore the efficacy of the model in a given situation. Journal: Int. A survey instrument was sent to PPCM officials who are members of PPCM professional associations. Responses to the survey were received from 1809 PPCM officials and included both managers and non-managers. Officials were asked to provide their perceptions of the intrinsic and extrinsic values of certification, their perceptions of the value of certification to PPCM as a profession, and their perceptions of the value of certification to the organisations/agencies that employ PPCM practitioners. The results indicate that compared to uncertified PPCM respondents, certified PPCM respondents have higher intrinsic and extrinsic motivation to seek certification and view certification as more valuable to the profession and the organisation. For this purpose, literature has been reviewed and the branches of a bank have been selected. Based on a pair wise comparison questionnaire relevant to the decision making trial and evaluation (DEMATEL) technique; the collected data has been analysed. Findings indicated that project management, education, commitment and support of the senior managers are among the cause variables and technology infrastructure, planning and business perspective, communications, change management, and participation of the groups are among the effect variables. By applying the approach of this study, service firms such as banks and particularly the studied bank can better implement their ERP projects. Journal: Int.
