Endogenous production inefficiency stochastic frontier analysis Abstract: Despite the growing interest research in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and entrepreneurial orientation (EO), it is unclear that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) should concern about the adoption of CSR strategies. This research analyses the effects of CSR and EO on the firm efficiency of SMEs. Data were collected from a survey of 838 food processing enterprises in Vietnam and analysed by using the Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function. The results confirm that the EO has a significant relationship with firm efficiency. However, we do not find strong evidence for the relationship between CSR and firm efficiency. Journal: Int. The study focuses on adults in Malaysia who have experience in online purchases. The study employs an online method to distribute the questionnaire, and a total of 392 valid data were collected via convenient sampling. The data were analysed with smart partial least square software. Evidence from the study reveals that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of used, brand, trust and perceived risk contributes to online purchase intention for non-electrical and electronic high value goods (NEHVG). It also shows that perceived risk has a mediating effect on the relationship between trust and online purchase intention, while income level moderates the relationship between perceived usefulness and online purchase intention. This study provides insights into consumers' acceptance level, and the determinants of online purchase intention for NEHVG in Malaysia. Journal: Int. The current scientific literature reveals a lack of condensed knowledge, which causes uncertainty regarding what to focus on and which obstacles to avoid while establishing, maintaining and improving intra-organisational online collaboration (IOC). The aim of this research is to create a systematisation of literature, which gives a complete and structured overview of success factors for IOC. Therefore, an extensive systematic literature review was conducted. Additional expert interviews allowed in-depth descriptions and ensured a practical perspective. Both literature and interviews are systematically analysed using qualitative content analysis. The result is a systematisation of 32 success factors of IOC, which are categorised in collaborative human, collaborative organisation and collaborative technology. This gives an overview of adjustment factors, to establish, maintain and improve IOC. Journal: Int. This retrospective multiple case study reached this aim by investigating owner-managers' experiences from the early growth process and by reflecting on these experiences through the meta-analytical management priority framework. The contextual management priorities were visited from the perspectives of service- and technology-based companies in SPAs. The owner-managers of service- and tech-based firms paid primary attention to three shared priorities: human resources, the development of services/products and organisational design, but in a different order and with context-specific characteristics. In service-based firms, owner-managers' primary attention was on human resource management; meanwhile, the attention of owner-managers was primarily on the development and delivery of products/technology. Consequently, it is essential to pro-actively develop strategies and plans to address such crises, in order to minimise costs. This requires them to keep abreast of developments in all fields, especially electronic readiness, because of its significant impact on crises management. This paper identifies the impact of electronic readiness on many crisis management dimensions. The study population consisted of all employees in control and supervisory positions in Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) (upper and middle management levels), comprising a total of 500 personnel. The study showed a statistically significant effect of electronic readiness on crisis management and makes recommendations based on the evidence. Journal: Int. The young (2003) Umeå Science Park, accounts for 11% of firms and 29% of employment in Umeå, containing 17 SMEs, with on average 7.42 employees per on-cluster SME compared to 2.14 employees in off-cluster SMEs. The more mature (1998) Skövde Science Park accounts for 30% of firms and 78% of employment in Skövde, with 21 on-cluster SMEs (discounting branches of two large companies) and 49 off-cluster SMEs; the off-cluster firms had 168 employees compared to 598 employees in 21 on-cluster SMEs. In Skövde, STP growth was strong and on- and off-cluster SMEs prospered. In Umeå, STP and on-cluster SMEs grew slowly, while off-cluster SMEs proliferated. These results imply that young STPs grow better when they are interesting enough to be able to attract divisions of larger firms, which in turn improves the STP-level decision-making. Journal: Int. The survey was sent to 869 respondents at different levels of management in Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province to collect opinions on corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices and their influence on organisational competitive advantage. The data are analysed using the SmartPLS technique to draw conclusions about the impact of CSR factors on organisational competitive advantage. The results indicate that there are four main impact variables - economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic CSR factors - that strongly affect organisational competitive advantage, whereas environmental CSR does not affect competitive advantage. Based on the findings, organisations have different options to decide which types of CSR are suitable for their business activities. Journal: Int. A perspective from micro, small and medium-scale entrepreneurs in business clusters Abstract: The factors that drive small business clusters in internationalisation have recently become a matter of great interest for policy makers in emerging and developing economies as these policy makers strive for sustained economic growth. Yet, the literature overlooks the significant influence that co-location plays in generating the needed environment within dynamic relationships, to drive the internationalisation activities in business cluster. We address this gap by collecting and analysing empirical qualitative data from two food processing clusters in Ghana and posit that the local business environment and unique sociocultural factors may influence exports of micro, small and medium-scale businesses. The key findings revealed that partnerships between multinational and indigenous businesses (international exposure of fruit processing businesses and socially embedded relationship of associations and local distributors) have made it possible for dynamic networks to be established in international markets. These export drivers are sustained by socio-cultural collaborative relationships which allow micro, small and medium-enterprises (MSME) to internationalise, while maintaining their local peculiarities. Hence, various issues of the banking performance antecedent still become attractive. Exploring the issue of training on organisational performance is believed to be controversial. Accordingly, this paper explores the banking business behaviour in terms of the role of tacit knowledge sharing and critical adaptability in the dynamic effect of training quality on organisational performance. The multiple regression model was used to investigate the role of tacit knowledge sharing and critical adaptability in the dynamic effect of training quality on organisational performance. In this study, we surveyed 190 bankers. Results show that training quality has a significant effect on organisational performance. This study reaches the conclusion that tacit knowledge sharing and critical adaptability have significant roles by mediating the effect of training quality on organisational performance. A universalistic perspective is able to explain the mechanism of the research model. Hence, the result of the study is supported by the explanation of the dynamic effect of training quality on organisational performance. Finally, this study discusses the implications of the study and future research. Journal: Int. The results showed that when managers were satisfied with the use of MTTs, companies increased their return on equity. Moreover, managers do not have enough knowledge or understanding of modern tools to promote ideas, and renovate the business environment to create value. They spend too much time solving operational problems and neglect to identify the company's competencies, leadership skills and vision for the company's development. Journal: Int. This study investigates the various factors that affect travel intention (TINT) in public taxi services post COVID-19 lockdown in Chennai City. The primary data was collected from 296 respondents through a questionnaire survey, mainly from frequent travellers that use rental taxis in Chennai. This study extended the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) in the travel intention context. The respondents' data was analysed using reliability, multi-collinearity, factor analysis, and regression techniques. The results show that perceived severity harms travel intention, which offers travellers a hesitation to travel because of the COVID-19 threat. Based on the research data, travellers' feedback and suggestions, strategies to improve the taxi rental service in Chennai City are proposed. Journal: Int. We used surveys conducted on 200 micro firms operating in Ghana. We used both descriptive and regression to analyse the link between entrepreneur competencies, employee satisfaction and profitability. The data from 150 participants suggest that entrepreneur competencies have a positive and significant effect on profitability. Additional, entrepreneur competencies have a positive and significant impact on employee satisfaction. Our findings clarify the role entrepreneur competencies play in enhancing profitability and employee satisfaction in the emerging market context. Drawing on resource-based view, the paper addresses the 'human element' in entrepreneurship, thus enriching entrepreneurship debate, especially in Ghana. Entrepreneurs have better understanding of the importance of competencies on their firm profitability and employee satisfaction. The authors concluded that entrepreneurs need robust competencies that can foster superior profitability and boost employee satisfaction level. Journal: Int. Abstract: In recent years, the ecosystem of innovation in Italy has been populated by new players. This paper aims to investigate the validity of innovative start-ups' business model. A large sample of innovative start-ups was developed to understand how they performed from an economic-financial point of view, in the period from 2014 to 2017, starting from the consideration of six fundamental parameters: localisation, sector, skills, finance, assistance, and control. A disaggregated analysis is carried out, with the typical tools of statistical analysis of variance applied to balance sheet data, to understand differences in profitability and/or financial structure between innovative start-ups in different geographical areas within the Italian economic system. The results show good profitability, with average values higher than those normally recorded in traditional forms of business. However, further evidence relates to the increase in debt, with a low propensity for internal financing. Finally, the analysis on the dependence of performance from the geographical variable showed that the success of this particular business model is linked to the characteristics of the geographical macro-area. Wrong interpretations of time or a difference in the perception of time can lead to misunderstandings at the workplace, which are often caused by cultural differences. This study examined Chinese managers' perceptions of time management in first-tier cities in China. To collect data, 14 in-depth qualitative interviews were conducted to understand how Chinese managers perceive the concept of time management. The findings showed that Chinese managers are involved in active time management. The main factors that influenced their time management dispositions are perceptions of work, time pressure, work planning, workplace challenges, and time management efficiency. Besides, the corporate, social-cultural, and geographic environment impacted their time management behaviour. The findings provide important insights for Chinese managers about their perceptions of time and their awareness of time management. Further discussion and implications are provided. Journal: Int. The objective of this research was to assess whether the pecking order hypothesis, which suggests that entrepreneurs will prefer specific forms of funding over others, would be confirmed in cases where a firm is founded by an entrepreneurial team due to differences in social capital. Our findings suggest that the pecking order hypothesis of startup capital acquisition strategies may not account for the distinct characteristics of entrepreneurial teams. By first replicating the pecking order hypothesis and subsequently testing its limitations, our study contributes to ongoing discussions regarding new venture startup strategies. Analyses of 738,058 firms support our arguments that teams are significantly more likely to violate the pecking order hypothesis than lone founders and that this relationship is strengthened in the case of family firms. The results presented herein should guide further research in social capital of entrepreneurial teams, explain some of the inconsistencies in research to-date regarding lone founders vs. team entrepreneurship in terms of capital acquisition, and aid entrepreneurs in their understanding of the preferred capital acquisition methods and selection of funding sources. This study for that a posteriori reason aims at re-examining this phenomena by taking into account consumer behaviour of Tokopedia in Indonesia as a case study. The data source of this study was collected from a quantitative survey of consumers of Tokopedia in Jakarta, the Capital City of Indonesia. The sampling method applied was the non-probability sampling technique since no access to the population database was given by Tokopedia. The data were then analysed by using statistical multiple linear regression analysis. This study confirmed that sales promotion, attractiveness of internet advertising, and website quality significantly affected impulse buying of consumers of Tokopedia in Jakarta. The limitations of the study were discussed so caveats apply to interpret the findings from this study. Journal: Int. Specifically, it aims to measure users' behaviours and acceptance of an ERMS. This study utilises a survey of employees in the O%G sector in Yemen, with a total 415 survey questionnaires collected. Data analysis was performed by deploying structural equation modelling (SEM) using Smart-PLS (v.3.2.8). The results reveal that users in the O%G sector are influenced by six factors [system quality (SQ), information quality (IQ), service quality (SRQ), perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), and trust (TRU)] in their acceptance of an ERMS. The results show all of these factors and R-square values have a significant influence on employees' intentions to accept ERMS in the O%G sector. Journal: Int.
