Therefore, a profound understanding of readiness factors and interrelationships prior to adoption is essential for manufactures. This paper proposes a model framework of the causal relationships of the readiness factors for IIoT adoption using decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-based rough set theory (RST). DEMATEL is to identify the interrelationships among readiness factors, while RST is to capture the ambiguity and subjective information in the decision-making process. The proposed framework is illustrated by taking a case of Thai agro-food processing industry. The finding suggests that the Thai agro-food processing industry needs to focus on three main readiness factors being 'top management support and commitment', 'digital business model' and 'strategic technology roadmap for digitalisation', respectively. This study also provides a deep insight to adopt IIoT for better understanding of the essential readiness factors. Journal: Int. The developed methodology is based on capital budgeting and combines it with several financial ratio considerations. This study found that capital budgeting and several financial ratios are proven tools that help industries make the best decisions between options. Based on econometric calculations, the divestiture option is more advisable than the refurbish scheme. First, this study is scientifically met with the aim of asset optimisation in the logistics sector, but it can be adapted for other types of businesses with adequate adjustments. These findings are practically applicable to help industries make faster decisions. This study contributes to the development of knowledge on global logistics businesses. Journal: Int. It presents the results of action research hypothesising a link between applied pedagogical methods and the reduction of this type of anxiety. Based on the work of Horwitz et al. (1986) around clarifying language learning anxiety reviewed by Zhao (2007), the research was carried out with first-year students, using mixed methods (a questionnaire, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews). This enabled us to measure the levels of language anxiety the students experienced in class at two different points (n = 20 for T1; n = 23 for T2). The questionnaire asks students about four factors (F1 apprehension of communication in English; F2 test anxiety; F3 fear of negative evaluation; F4 + F5 English classroom anxiety). Journal: Int. Mental health of the employees may deteriorate due to work related stress. Hence, it remains eminent to explore during pandemic, how involvement human resource management practices would affect stress levels of the employees. Perceived work-based self-efficacy, employee stress management and hope were estimated as mediating constructs among involvement HRM practices and mental well-being of employees. In this regard, it was endeavoured to collect primary data through structured questionnaire from the sales staff of telecommunication sector of Pakistan using non-probability convenience sampling. Data estimation was conducted using covariance-based structural equation modelling (CB-SEM) on AMOS 25.0. The results affirmed theoretically established associations. Journal: Int. The study focuses on narrative-driven praxis being formed by practitioners involved in strategic discursive practices. The interconnections within strategy discourse lead to interdiscursivity that influences strategic decision-making. Revealing interdiscursivity is crucial as it is the key to understanding the praxis of strategy formation. This is action research that involved 16 practitioners from 13 countries around the world. Critical discourse analysis is applied to data collected through purposive sampling during online coaching sessions. The author acted as an executive coach. The theoretical and practical implications of this paper are presented as a non-normative model that describes strategy formation as narrative-driven performative praxis. The constructed model can be used as a theoretical basis for individual coaching sessions on strategy formation. Journal: Int. We believe that to some extent this adage can be applied to a manufacturer of goods vis-à-vis its suppliers in the sense that it is necessary to diversify the sources of origin of its raw materials or semi-finished products. To select its potential suppliers, the company sets its objectives first and then determines the criteria that must be used to evaluate any potential supplier. In this paper, we assume that the objectives (generally economic, social and environmental objectives), evaluation criteria and a list of suppliers are established by the company, and our goal acting as an analyst is to propose an evaluation framework for building a portfolio of supplier companies and/or clustering them into homogeneous categories for their appropriate treatment. To do this, we propose to apply a multi-criteria analysis method called bipolar analysis. Journal: Int. The EM system optimises energy to maximise profits. One of the best approaches to managing energy is letting every individual in the industry be responsible. Lack of knowledge by most workers challenges this, and it is expensive to train every staff who operates in silo form. This study thus designed an ES that assists managers in manufacturing industries in performing EM. The system's target is to overcome the existing knowledge barriers and lack of expertise in EM in industries. The designed system is web-based software and acts as an expert in EM using knowledge base and artificial intelligence as an inference engine to mimic human behaviour of reasoning and decision making. The ES would thus ensure the availability of EM expertise in industries and the process of managing energy to be performed by qualified industrial workers. Journal: Int. Utilising strategies such as vehicle routing accompanied by simultaneous pickup and delivery, hub location, and inventory management will also help reduce costs and make the chain greener. The importance of developing the green reverse supply chain networks and applying these strategies has increased by emerging the perishable product chain. In this regard, the present paper aims to develop a green reverse supply chain network for the distribution of dairy products including yogurt drinks with the possibility of simultaneous pickup and delivery under uncertainty. In the current model, the minimisation of total chain costs and lost demand is simultaneously considered and a fuzzy solution method is provided to solve the bi-objective model. Journal: Int. The purpose of this research is to examine the presence of rational strategic decision-making processes and relevant factors involved in a crisis context from empirical managerial practice. This research is based on seven multi-case study interviews of both top and middle level managers from multiple industries. Empirical evidence indicates the predominance of a rational strategic decision-making process with intuitive elements incorporated within a situation of crisis. A rational strategic decision-making process with intuitive elements embedded in is derived and structured from the data collected. This paper further presents many influential factors in the processes that are either already known (e.g., information, uncertainty, heterogeneity, dynamism) or newly discovered/named (e.g., regulatory requirement, sustainability and heteroturbulence). One of the primary objectives for many business organisations, therefore, is to focus more closely on the issues involved with these changing organisational concerns. Workplace diversity, alongside generating value through resonance with a multicultural global marketplace and associations to innovation, is expected to grow further in status over the next ten years considering multiple demographic factors. Yet, the developments surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic continue to hinder the pursuit of these positive goals. The direct and indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic stand to affect workforce diversity and inclusion efforts in significant ways. Research findings have highlight significant levels of health, economic, and racial inequalities among individuals affected by COVID-19 as a potential consequence of poverty, access to care, and roles as essential workers. The present research study will provide an exploration of how the global pandemic has impacted diversity in the work environment within the past 18 months in light of decades of workplace diversity gains achieved. This vital area of discussion is set into a historical timeframe that will necessarily address how the recent global issues influence the direction of diversity efforts. Journal: Int. The auto industry being a major contributor to air pollution, came up with an alternative, electric vehicles. The objective of this paper is to identify, categorise and prioritise the barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles on a mass scale and to propose an implication model for industries. This study identifies 53 barriers through an extensive literature review and expert opinions and classifies them into four main categories. The significance of various subcategory barriers is evaluated using Pareto analysis. The ranking is done according to weights, which are determined by a novel full consistency method (FUCOM) approach. The result of this study reveals that out of 53 barriers, the vital few came out to be 24 barriers. Further among the four main category barriers, the economic barrier (EB) and knowledge management barrier (KMB) are found to be the most and the least influential main category barriers, respectively. The findings of this study will be beneficial to industrial managers and top-level management of the electric vehicles (EVs) auto industry. Journal: Int. The model explicitly aligns with the cognitive-affective-behaviour paradigm that is extensively used to define the concept of perceived value. The model is developed upon the grounded theory of technology acceptance that is integrated with hedonic value, technology readiness, perceived risks, perceived trust, and smart experience as perceived value factors. The model was tested in Egypt within a retailer specialising in selling furnishing solutions to expand the literature with new insights from a developing country. The goodness of fit, reliability, and validity of the model was confirmed. The direct, indirect, and total effects of these factors are examined using AMOS structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings indicate that Egyptian customers' acceptance to adopt smart retail technologies will be influenced by the chain of factorial model's effects. Journal: Int. Despite the availability of treatment, the disease continues to be neglected. Treatment is one of the main alternatives, however, the scarcity of medication and its poor distribution are important factors that have driven the spread of the disease, leading to irreversible and multi-resistant complications. This paper uses a distribution methodology to optimise medication administration, taking into account the most relevant attributes for the epidemiological profile of patients and the deficit in treatment via polychemotherapy. Multi-criteria decision methods were used applied in a database with information from patients in the State of Pará between 2015 and 2020. The results pointed out that 84% of individuals did not receive any treatment and of these, the method obtained a gain in the distribution of 68% in patients with positive diagnosis for leprosy. The products must be in control, and the product data and product portfolio suit the business to ensure process performance. Customers' demanding complex solutions necessitate considerations over decentralised or centralised management of data and products. Decisions on product and data management affect vital processes. Thematic analysis is applied to company product data management (PDM) and product portfolio management (PPM) practices to reflect the centralisation vs. decentralisation perspective and identify preconditions for centralisation. It appears that the volume of standard products, pressures to comply with regulations and standards, and product and process maturity influence whether a company benefits more from centralisation or decentralisation. Value is provided by revealing challenges of decentralised PDM and PPM, and by clarifying preconditions for centralisation. The findings indicate the order of priority for centralisation in terms of aligning processes and harmonising data. Journal: Int. In particular, we focus on the prediction of interview performance using combinations of variables which assess personality and cognitive ability. Based on a dataset of 1,989 subjects, we generate 1,024 possible models with ten predictors including six personalities and four cognitive factors and apply the mixed-effect logistic regression to account for the random effect. The predictive performance of each model is evaluated by the area under receiver operating characteristic curve. The results show that the model with a combination of ambition and agreeableness as well as verbal and reasoning can predict the interview performance at 68% accuracy and this predictive power is not substantially different from the predictive performance of more complicated models. Our results suggest that personnel selection with fewer factors can be as efficient as all factors in the prediction. This study contributes to the selection literature by emphasising and justifying efficient decision making with predictive models, and it demonstrates that the personnel selection procedure can be simplified in an organisation and can save the organisation resources.
