SRGM are mathematical models that observe past failure history and give an estimate of the future failure behaviour. The rapidity of testing of approximately all the software development is governed by the testing effort. The testing effort primarily includes manpower and computer time. Faults remaining in software system are mainly of two types: Firstly, mutually independent faults that are isolated and removed directly; secondly communally dependent faults that are isolated only by the removal of leading faults. SRGM based on fault dependency with the integration of testing efforts and learning is proposed by the authors in this paper. Furthermore, the proposed model is compared with existing models on real life data sets and it is numerically illustrated. Journal: Int. Abstract: Worldwide rapid changes are occurring in the economic arena with various multinational corporations (MNCs) attempting to recruit fresh graduates from various countries. India is considered to be one of the potential markets for these recruiters. As employees, these fresh graduates bring an Indian ethical business perspective to the day-to-day business operations of the organisations they work for. Thus, it is imperative for multinational managers to know whether business success in India comes at an ethical cost. This paper focuses on understanding perspective of business management students (would-be managers) towards ethical dilemmas using 12 vignettes. We have examined responses of 201 business management students and found that students appeared to be readily compromise on situations dealing with professional advantage. The study indicates that future managers' associations of business and ethics is altering, thus, it is pertinent to examine its magnitude and new ethical equilibrium. Journal: Int. The depth review in service innovation literatures helped in identifying major issues that is the factors affecting innovation were mostly based on product and specific to firm perspective. Thus, this study attempted to identify the factors and classify them from both customer and firm perspective. Qualitative approaches such as focus group discussions and in-depth interviews were adopted and opinion was recorded from service firm's customers of South India. The study resulted in six internal and seven external factors from firm perspective and four internal and seven external factors from customer perspective. For decision makers/managers of the service firms this study helps in understand the major factor thereby by taking special effort on overcoming the barrier would facilitate in selling their service innovations to target customers. A ghost myth in Sweden's national business system explains why it happened when it did. Theories on travelling ideas underemphasise the fact that organisations/countries hold varying and competing ideas of suitable practices at the same time. Ghost myths are important alternative concepts which are activated when contextual circumstances arise for a shift in practices. This research is based on a hermeneutic and qualitative approach using texts and interviews and it highlights the role of ghost myths in terms of how ideas travel and how they are translated in different contexts. An alumnus giving back to the alma mater takes can take any form such financial, social, etc. Alumni giving behaviour is valuable to a university, and requires a great understanding of alumni constituents in order to attract the appropriate responses. Alumni at all ages and life stages have much to offer to their alma mater, and it is vital to understand the dimensions of giving behaviour of alumni which will prompt the ideal actions or reactions a university is seeking. Our research broadly identifies five dimensions of alumni giving behaviour - financial giving, social giving, charitable giving, emotional giving and mentorship-oriented giving. Journal: Int. This paper provides the criteria that contribute to the risk amplification for the disruption of business. Over the last two decades, global concerns have emerged due to natural disasters, and human-made disasters, which are also responsible for the business interruption. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the critical risk criteria of business continuity management/process and their potential impact on the businesses as well as their supply chain. Six criteria and 28 sub-criteria were selected from the literature review, and views of experts' (academicians, and industry practitioners), and an AHP methodology has been adopted to rank the same. A criteria namely 'organisational and management risk (OMR)' and a sub-criteria namely 'management policies failure' were found to be the most significant. These research findings are intended to help the decision and policy makers in understanding the significance of critical risk criteria and for the formulation of effective policies and strategies for their elimination. The implementation of LM paradigm has been widespread and successful in the world. However, in the recent years, few researchers have begun to claim that the implementation of LM paradigm has not been yielding the expected benefits in certain sectors. In the context of making this observation, the literature review reported in this paper was carried out. This literature review was carried out from six perspectives. On viewing from these perspectives, the trends of researches on applying LM in manufacturing and small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) was studied. The trends of LM research thus captured from the literature arena have been presented in eleven sections of this paper. In the last section, the paper is concluded by suggesting the researchers to conduct lean implementation studies in SMEs and develop frameworks to this effect. Journal: Int. In addition, since an organisation's existence relies upon its ability to compete with other companies, they must take into consideration green criteria, as well. Therefore, organisations need to look for the suppliers that cover green criteria plus other criteria for the sake of outsourcing their processes. This research presents a novel two-stage supply chain approach based on fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and mathematical programming. In the first stage, this approach makes use of a supportive system based on FAHP in order to perform the primary evaluation on the verification of suppliers. Then, the suppliers with the least required scores in this evaluation enter the second stage. In the second stage, the optimal amount order to each supplier and the optimal route to each supplier are determined. The proposed approach has been implemented in a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production company in Iran in order to investigate its effectiveness. The achieved results represent the effectiveness of the proposed model. Journal: Int. The main objective of this paper is to identify the key risk factors solely or primarily for the Indian retail sector. A theoretical model is developed that explains the risk factors which may impact the success of BIAS implementation. Using the SEM, it is found that 40% of the variations in BIAS implementation success can be explained with the help of the model suggested in the research study. The findings from this paper can provide a greater understanding of BIAS implementations. Researchers, practicing anagers, and those seeking to implement BIAS in the retail organisation can also use the findings of this study as a vehicle for improving BIAS implementation success in the retail sector. This paper presents a new two objectives mathematical model for flexible job-shop scheduling problem in which the reliability index of machines as an important fact has been taken into consideration. The objectives are defined as: minimising total completion time of jobs and maximising the reliability of system (minimising failure rate of machines). Since these objectives are conflict and complexity of the model is high, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGAII) is designed to find Pareto optimal solution for this problem. The Pareto optimal solutions resulted from this paper is used by decision maker for selecting the solution that satisfies her/his needs in different industrial environments. Journal: Int. The development of model framework constitutes the opinions and expressions of two distinct groups viz. Voice of customer (VoC) and voice of engineer (VoE), and also its implementation. The modified and enhanced version of quality function deployment-based customer driven product development model has been discussed, implemented and justified with a real-life case study on a centre lathe. Implementation of 43% of total engineering characteristics viz. service life, speed control on the machine, production capacity accuracy of the machine, vibration occurring on lathe bed and application of QFD methodology to design of each and every part of machine leads to 70.63% of desired customer satisfaction level. The study concludes by achieving the specific aims of developing a comprehensive systematic methodology and fills in a number of gaps in existing knowledge regarding the effective development and use of quality function deployment in customer driven product development process. It focuses on the identification of pertinent variables that influence brand experience (antecedents) and the long-term consequences (outcomes) of it. Today the market is highly competitive with technology advancing every day in every sector and the consumer is looking for memorable experiences. Also to survive in the market and to achieve competitive edge the brand managers are focusing on the critical issue of providing unique brand experience. The current research study presents a conceptual framework and proposes research propositions that would assist practitioners and academicians to understand the determinants of the brand experience. The framework developed in this research is a result of an exhaustive review of literature in the area of marketing and branding and selectively developed for the tangible product category. The study helps to clarify the understanding of brand experience formation and its possible outcomes. The novelty of this study lies in the framework itself showing unique antecedents of brand experience on the basis of theoretical support. Finally, the study discusses the managerial implications of brand experience in order to develop well-informed marketing strategies. Journal: Int. A case investigation Abstract: The objective of the paper is to investigate the potential of integrating lean philosophy with Goldratt's theory of constraints (TOC) to improve operational performance in an auto component manufacturing firm. This paper proposes an integrated lean philosophy-TOC framework and its case application to enhance operational performance in an auto component manufacturing firm. Case study results indicate that the company benefited from its emphasis on operational performance enhancement by the TOC concept. Managers were able to select a continuous improvement (CI) project that had a greater impact on the bottom line performance. On the other hand, lean philosophy provided seven wastes identification and reduction techniques, to enhance customer value as well as to optimise utilisation of available resources. Further empirical investigation and robust model development on TOC-based lean implementation will guide lean practitioners to leverage lean advantages which can further be improved by integrating with other CI techniques. Integration of lean manufacturing philosophy and TOC can provide managers with an effective platform for two CI techniques to work together and create great energies. The paper reveals a typical case of a journey of enhancing operational performance by adopting lean philosophy with initiations of TOC approach. Journal: Int. A philosophical inquiry Abstract: This article travels across the waters separating management and philosophy with special attention to management innovation (or management reform). More specifically, the article examines attempts to place management innovation in the context of culture transformation - from scientific to technological culture - by adopting philosophical categories. After circumscribing the field of management innovation, a definition of culture is provided in terms of ethos (the embodiment of ideas in social practice) and logos (the rationale behind practice). Then the article considers management innovation in the context of culture transformation, through a complex re-articulation of the ethos-logos relationship. The endgame of the analysis pursued throughout this article is that in a technological culture, management innovation is ineffective in providing rationale to practice. Journal: Int. The objective of this paper is to provide an extensive bibliometric literature review on 'green manufacturing' as a term and concept. Articles were located through publish or perish software and the Google Scholar database. Scanning by scimagojr.com (Q1 and Q2), we analysed 76 articles from 39 reputable journals from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2017 (a period of 20 years). Mendeley software was used to manage and resume the references. We have reviewed this database and attempted to classify articles using VOSviewer software. Three clusters were reviewed; the words most frequently occurring in each group were 'practice', 'model', and 'industry'. This cluster represents the research streams of green manufacturing. However, today the business is facing dramatic competition in a new dynamic environment. So, banks make strategic choices to improve their financial performance. The purpose of the study is to identify different banking business models using hierarchical cluster analysis. Further, to understand the impact of the strategic choices which banks make on their financial performance, we employ panel data regression and quantile regression techniques. The sample period for the study is 2003-2016 and the sample set includes 50 Indian commercial banks which aggregate to more than 90% of the total assets of the banking sector during the sample period. The cluster analysis groups the observations into four distinct clusters. The results of the quantile regression indicate that there is differentiated impact across quantiles. Journal: Int. This study proposes a technique based on multi attributes decision making (MADM) and Shannon entropy weighting technique (S.E.W.T) to prioritise the elements of the iron triangle; cost, time, and quality, in three different sectors: construction, steel, and transportation. Even though the presence of S.E.W.T was insignificant in project management during the last decade, this study tries to refresh this technique as a critical decision tool in projects. This technique could benefit task managers and others making everyday decisions during project execution and design. This is not a comparative study between S.E.W.T and other MADMs, but a study in which the use of S.E.W.T as a weighting decision-making tool for project analysts is expanded, as it need fast and reliable decision-making tools. Its performance is notable over two decades. The purpose of this paper is to present a fuzzy quality function deployment (FQFD) model to identify customer requirements and design the production process and improve the quality of the T-shirts according to the requirements. To overcome the shortcomings of the traditional QFD, fuzzy set theory is integrated with HOQ. It will capture the vagueness of the customer requirements and facilitate to prioritise QFD information. For building HOQ, the design process starts with the data collection and ends with making some suggestions for improvement. Factors which improve the quality of the T-shirts have been identified from the HOQ matrices to develop some suggestions for improvements. The proposed improvements include: development of standard production operation of T-shirts, training workers, implementation of quality management department and development of flexible production schedule. It is used to optimise preventive maintenance strategies. In this paper, reliability centred maintenance is applied to a real-time case and suggested cost effective maintenance tasks for the most critical component of the system, which is identified by using Ishikawa diagram and failure mode effect and criticality analysis (FMECA). The decision tree is used to suggest cost effective maintenance tasks for the critical component. The inherent and operational availability of the system is estimated by determining two important reliability parameters, mean time between failure (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR). These parameters are determined by using Monte Carlo simulation and continuous Markov chain respectively. Journal: Int. It describes the competitive performance and marketing competence for the small and medium enterprises. The study inquires into the association and effect of the marketing competence on the competitive performance of the agro-food processing units in Jammu and Kashmir (J%K), India. The results of the present study reveal a positive relationship between the marketing competence and competitive performance. Further, for understanding the competitive position of the surveyed firms, each firm has been positioned in relation to the other firms on competitive performance and marketing competence index. The study has managerial and policy implications for the strategic growth and development of the agro-food processing industry in J%K. Journal: Int. Hence, proposing a plan for reuse of defective goods can have a great impact on the economic and environmental performance of the chain. In this regard, the design of reverse supply chain is a solution to this problem. To this end, in this paper, a bi-objective model is proposed for the design of a closed-loop supply chain network by taking into account supplier selection and order allocation. In the proposed model of locating the centres, discounts on purchases from suppliers and product storage by customers are considered, and then the LP metric approach is used to solve the bi-objective model. At the end, the model is implemented in a tyre manufacturing company in order to evaluate the efficiency and validity of the proposed model. The obtained results confirm the applicability and accuracy of the proposed approach. Journal: Int.
