However, recent studies show that the inherited characteristics of this technology enhance the concepts of supply chain management (SCM), assisting in verifiable and reliable transactional records. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the current state of BT-SCM literature applying in systematic literature review approach. A total of 38 papers have been examined through the analysis, and the results reveal that the field of research is still in its initial stage. In addition, this paper provides the main research directions on the concept from previous studies selected from high impact management journals. Three research directions: BT adoption, BT impact and BT applicability and their key dimensions were identified through content analysis. Therefore, the main contribution of this study is to provide some insights and practical implications for future studies on this context. Journal: Int. Thus, it can mitigate risks associated with international arms trade. These risks include transfers of weapons, munitions, and related supplies for the illegal purposes of committing genocide, crimes against humanity, organised crimes, terrorism, and gun violence. This study discusses ways to leverage blockchain technology to assure secure and safe arms transfers under fraud-free, arms trade contracts and facilitate the streamlined logistics and procurement operations of weapons, munitions, and military supplies. This study also classifies arms trade related risks into a number of different categories depending on the extent of such risks and develops specific risk measures useful for risk mapping across the global supply chain of international arms transfers. Scientific research, however, has yet to resolve the conflicts that occur between managers and their respective firms when there is a personal relationship between managers of buying and supplying firms in the supply chain. This paper addresses this important gap in supply chain literature. The research is qualitative in nature using the phenomenological approach for exploratory purposes. Overall, 30 semi-structured interviews are conducted with senior managers of purchasing and sourcing firms from Australia's manufacturing and service sector. Results from this study show that personal relationships between buying and supplying managers develop five different conflicts between managers and their respective firms with the potential to generate negative firm-level outcomes. Furthermore, findings from this study suggest that firms should remain cautious when relying on the personal relationships of managers within inter-firm relationships, as such relationships have the potential to divert managers from their firm's interests. The paper concludes by articulating its contribution to theory and practice, alongside the limitations and future research directions. Journal: Int. OPPO supports identifying critical performance measures and their root-causes, figuring out their intricate interrelations, and optimising their conflicts in consideration of their relative preferences. It provides the best-fitted solution for Pareto-optimal results. The OPPO development covered nine performance measures which were causally linked for identifying a few of critical performance measures and their root-causes. Their conflicts in consideration of their relative preferences were optimised using weighted max-min fuzzy goal programming (WMM-FGP) for providing Pareto optimality. As a result, supply chain cost and customer lead time were identified as critical performance measures. Their Pareto optimality in consideration of their relative preferences suggests the best-fitted product lot-size and position of order penetration point (OPP). Journal: Int. Since supply chain integration is a prerequisite in achieving superior supply chain performance, the objective of the current study is to determine the relationship between IT-enabled supply chain management (e-supply chain management), supply chain integration, information sharing and the performance of supply chain as a whole. Also, many authors are of the view that e-SCM and information sharing can positively enhance the integration among supply chain members, thus, another objective is to determine whether supply chain integration mediates the relationship between e-SCM and supply chain performance or not. Similar relationship is tested with information sharing as a mediator. For this, samples of 293 respondents are taken from the pharmaceutical manufacturing units and pharmacies in India. Structural equation modelling is applied to test these relationships. Journal: Int. Enabling flexibility along the transportation system is the most suitable solution for unpredictable disruptions. Flexibility, being a potential element, requires more attention to gain competitive advantages. In this study, an effort has been made to investigate different transport flexibility measures (TFMs) related to freight transportation. Initially, an extensive literature survey is performed to identify different TFMs linked with the supply chain and logistics domain. Further, an integrated fuzzy best-worst method (FBWM) has been adopted to prioritise the identified TFMs and sensitivity analysis is performed to ensure robustness of the model. The findings of the study reflect mode, fleet, vehicle and speed flexibility as the significant flexibility measures for freight transportation. This study will help practitioners, managers and decision-makers associated with freight transportation to make better decisions to ensure flexibility in the freight transportation system. The objective of HCRP is to minimise the total related costs. This model assumes that if existence nodes are at a certain distance from a given node, they will be covered. The problem is a complete graph, so the seller must enter and leave once on each node. The main decision variables are to determine the tours and how to use the hubs in the way that total cost can be minimised. Since the proposed model is NP-hard, a genetic algorithm (GA) is developed for solving the model in real-world sizes. The results show that the proposed model and solution method are useful for dealing with real-world problems. The computational results show that in large-scale instances, GA solves the problem in a reasonable CPU time where GAMS is unable to find even a feasible solution. The average running time of GA is 62.69 seconds for large scale instances. Journal: Int. This paper proposes a decision-making (MCDM) model to outsource logistics by prioritising the company's policies in an uncertain environment. Initially, fuzzy stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis (FSWARA) prioritises and weights selection criteria; then, fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (FTOPSIS) evaluates and ranks potential alternatives. Additionally, sensitivity analysis verifies the robustness of the proposed model, and a business dashboard validates the decision-making team opinion during the 3PL selection process. Its implementation in a Brazilian household appliance manufacturer indicates that the high priority for the company when outsourcing logistics activities is to focus on safety and environment while information technology comprises the last of its priorities. The proposed model can assist managers and researchers in teaching the selected provider about customer concerns. Journal: Int. The three main actions of pickers are to walk, pick and prepare cartons. The total amount of work for the last two actions remains constant, rendering the minimisation of walking distance as the only objective when minimising the total picking effort. Batches are formed to minimise walking distance. The question thus arises, what is the total time saving before and after batching? This picking system is modelled with a discrete event simulation. Historical data were compared to the output of the simulation for validation of the simulation. It showed that the simulation represents the real world picking system satisfactorily. The simulation runs also show that the order batching heuristics that aim at minimising walking distance reduce the overall picking time by up to 21%. Journal: Int. Consequently, logistics firms are looking for means and methods to green their business operations because of an inherent negative relationship between logistics operations (LO) and the natural environment. Considering the sustained economic growth and logistics challenges in India, the present study aims at developing and empirically validating a scale for green logistics practices (GLPs). Drawing on the relevant literature and previous studies, green logistics (GL) is conceptualised as a three a priori dimensions, i.e., strategic, tactical, and operational measures. With data collected from 312 Indian logistics service providers (ILSPs), two measurement models of GLPs were tested using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The empirical results indicate that both the first-order and the second-order models of GLPs are reliable and valid. The study provides a parsimonious scale for assessing GLPs. It is expected that the findings would help logistics firms to green their business processes. Journal: Int. This situation leads to congestion problems at the gates and generates serious air pollution while decreasing terminal efficiency. To consider this issue, many terminals use a truck appointment system. However, the latter should take, necessarily, into account the terminal's local conditions to ensure a satisfying performance. In the present work, one proposes an appointment model to control truck arrivals in one of the busiest terminals in Morocco. The model is based on an improvement of the approximation approach related to the queue length estimation. The treatment adopts a genetic algorithm with a novel testing scenarios highlighting more the solution performances by crossing several basic existing scenarios. Then, some numerical experiments are conducted based on literature works data to calibrate the model and ensure its accuracy. Finally, the best configuration was approved for the local terminal. After collection of data from the survey, the data was analysed with SmartPLS software. The effect of government support was found larger in safety internalisation than that of personal commitment to safety. Moral obligation was found to be the top significant independent variable in driving the safety behaviour. There was a relationship between attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control, and safety behaviour; it provides insights on how logistics firms could improve upon their employees' safety behaviour. Results showed that a variable, number of logisticians, negatively moderated the relationship between safety behaviour and safety performance. These findings contribute to the leadership literature by linking the two bodies of knowledge, by testing the moderating role of enterprise characteristics in the behaviour-safety outcomes relationship. In this paper, a mainstream psychological theory was drawn to explain the systems underlying the links between safety behaviour and outcomes. Consequently, there should be partnership between enterprise and the authority in order to help reduce workplace injuries and contribute to a sustainable improvement in competitiveness. Journal: Int. Within the DEA analysis, the present research work focused on input-oriented model with constant returns to scale and variable returns to scale. The DEA analysis is based on five inputs and two outputs. This study computes the Charnes, Cooper and Rhodes (CCR) score (technical efficiency), Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) score (pure technical efficiency) and scale efficiency (SE) using DEA technique. The findings of this study indicate that six decision-making units (DMUs) (1, 3, 7, 12, 13, and 16) are efficient, since their SE value is 1 while the remaining are inefficient. This research work also provides information about the inefficient organisations for required possible improvement to move towards the efficient frontier. The findings of the study would help decision-makers to develop appropriate strategies to effectively managing their resources. Journal: Int. A comprehensive review of the literature was followed by input from experts from industry and academia to develop a hierarchical model. Cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification (MICMAC) analysis was used to classify enablers into four categories. The results identified key variables that would help develop resilient supply chains to successfully mitigate economic-political risks in a developing economy under a blockade. The study contributes to literature on supply chain resilience by studying it in a new context and under a previously unexplored influence. Journal: Int. This paper addresses this gap by shedding light on the usage of LO by Moroccan manufacturing firms. Thus, a qualitative study is conducted to know the extent to which they outsource their logistics: factors influencing the LO decision, benefits and risks of LO, logistics activities outsourced, impact of LO on their performance, logistics services providers' (LSPs) types, determinants and sources used to select the appropriate LSPs, and finally their expectations regarding the supply of their LSPs. The results denote that the usage of LO reveals positive impact on firm's performance although it still at a nascent stage in Morocco. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge of LO practices. Research limitations are highlighted and potential future research avenues are proposed. Journal: Int. In the supply chain practice, the focus is on customer, customer relationship and information sharing. This research shows what type of impact has the practice on supply chain performance. Supply chain performance is measured by four constructors: flexibility, cost, quality and delivery. Data were collected from food companies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and has been used for testing the hypothesis. There have been three tested hypotheses using multiple linear regression analysis. The results have shown that individual supply chain practices have an impact on supply chain performance. In addition, it has been shown that the relationship with the supplier and the buyer affects the quality of the supply chain, while the relationship with the supplier affects the delivery. The results have shown that information sharing has no impact on individual constructors of supply chain performance. The obtained results provide practical insights to the managers of food companies to understand the supply chain, its practices and performance as well as the limitations of different practices to improve supply chain performance. Here, backlogging rate has been considered as the exponential function of the length of the waiting time of the customers. An important business policy, advance payment has also been introduced where a retailer makes an order of the product by paying a certain portion of the total purchase cost before receiving the product with some equal instalments and the rest amount has to be paid at the receiving time of the lot. Then corresponding cost minimisation problem has been formulated. Due to the high nonlinearity of the corresponding optimisation problem, to find the best-found solution of the objective function LINGO 18.0 software is used. To validate the proposed model, one numerical example has been solved. Finally, the effect of changes of different parameters of the proposed model have been analysed graphically and a fruitful conclusion has been made. Journal: Int. The conceptual model provides a systems perspective on the complex logistical decisions within the petroleum industry, especially in situations where the gas producers face problems when meeting increasing demand. This research characterises the organisational learning method to understand the scenario that anticipates O%G demand. Using systems thinking, causal loop diagram (CLD), the qualitative study presents an innovative way of viewing the interrelationships between complex variables in the petroleum industry. The CLD models the strategic supply chain and logistics decisions as key factors in the business to business environments that enable companies to sustain a competitive advantage. Practitioners and researchers can anticipate and consistently gain new knowledge by using systems thinking to model the logistics processes and complexities in the petroleum industry. Journal: Int. The current study presents an analysis on port selection criteria from the point of view of importers in southern Brazil. First, a literature research was conducted to identify how port selection is structured and then the most cited criteria for port selection were identified. Using these criteria, a quantitative, descriptive and causal research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to a sample of importers. Data were analysed by descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression and it was possible to identify the most relevant port selection factors considered by the importers. Among these factors, inland transportation costs (from the port to import destination), port efficiency and infrastructure stood out. These factors accounted for 75% of the overall evaluation, according to the R2 found in the regression analysis. Journal: Int. This concern led to the emergence of the prise-collecting covering tour problem (PCCTP), which seeks to find a tour for travelling teams that provide services to these communities. This work proposes a novel hybrid heuristic based on greedy randomised adaptive search procedure (GRASP) and random variable neighbourhood search (RVND) meta-heuristics for the purpose of solving the PCCTP. Computational experiments were conducted on a PCCTP benchmark from the literature, and the results demonstrate our approach provides a significant improvement in solving PCCTP and comparable with the state of the art, mainly regarding the computational processing time. The population consisted of all users of ERP systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. A convenience sampling technique was conducted. A set of descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were used to analyse the data. There was a significant effect of the implementation of ERP systems on performance. Furthermore, the quality of information mean was high with no significant impact on the performance of companies. Moreover, there were differences in the level of implementing ERP systems due to the number of years that companies have implemented them, and the level of staff use of ERP systems due to the number of years of their practice on these systems. This implies the need to educate and train staff about a different aspect of these systems. Journal: Int. In such situations, the main objective is to find effective solutions instead of just trying to minimise the total transportation cost. The balancing solution to this problem may be found by reaching a compromising solution in terms of both the criteria of cost and time. A new method is proposed to solve this problem named as root searching. It is an effort to discover a set of efficient solutions and the most efficient solution of the time versus cost transportation problems. Efficiency may be moderating the solutions devoid of extreme measures. One solution is to minimised total transportation time, and the other is to minimised total transportation cost. It shall certainly provide great benefit and support to decision-makers. Journal: Int. Face-to-face interviews and a quantitative survey were used to collect and analyse the opinions of 20 experts in blockchain and food supply management. The results show that contractual parties with asymmetric bargaining power along the food supply chain can implement blockchain-based smart contracts to reduce the negative impacts of UTPs. The creation of templates for such types of contracts and promotion by regulative authorities could help their dissemination. This is the first study to explore the applicability of blockchain-based smart contracts in the food supply chain and its impact on UTPs. We especially focus on the needs of small and medium-sized food producers and farmers who experience negative impacts on their businesses due to existing power asymmetries. Journal: Int. Hence, dealing with maintenance from a logistics vision to define maintenance logistics system is a new promising framework boosting availability improvement and industrial performance. A survey study was conducted in the Moroccan industrial context to evaluate industrials' perception about lean implementation benefits in maintenance logistics, concluding its positive impact on four fields of benefit; among others maintenance logistics environment and human factor culture which is considered the most difficult to align on the lean culture. In addition, the human factor perspective, being an important key to reach sustainable performance, still stays poorly exploited in maintenance area. To activate the human factor potential, we define the sustainable maintenance logistics framework covering all maintenance resources. To this end, we propose a new sustainable map integrating lean culture and experience feedback within Industry 4.0 perspective. Journal: Int. One of the ways to achieve this is by ensuring proper quantities of storage at the point of demand and ensuring the best possible distribution plans, including routing of the distribution vehicles. There has been a sudden surge in the amount of CO<SMALL>2</SMALL> emissions in recent years and therefore a regulation on these emissions is the need of the hour. This inventory routing problem aims at integrating the routing of vehicles used for collection and distribution. In this paper, a three-staged method named GAS: grouping of nodes, allocation of the right quantities to these nodes and serving through these grouped nodes is proposed. The proposed method is made greener by considering the carbon footprint in the chain and will provide optimal solutions that can be implemented in distribution systems in a supply chain. The problem is assimilated to a two-dimensional packaging model where the objective function is to minimise the total travel time of the crane bridge subject to restrictions of available space. A genetic algorithm is proposed as a solution, with a chromosome that represents the sequence, initial population conformed with heuristic and random sequences, selection of parents by proportional roulette, crossing by SJ2OX, mutation by ARB2, population update by tournament and stopping criteria by number of iterations without improving the value of the objective function. The results show a reduction in the entry and exit operations, reducing total operating times and improving the safety of support personnel. The research study is focused on the power companies of Punjab to examine the deployment of green practices in the implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM) and analyse their impact on environmental, economic, and competitive performances. Data were collected from Punjab power companies and used to test the research hypotheses. Factor analysis was used to examine the construct validity while regression was used to test criteria validity. This study presents one of the earliest efforts on the subject of GSCM implementation in Indian power companies. The impact of GSCM implementation reflects itself in three forms, i.e., environmental, economic and competitive performances. The study has clearly deduced that government regulation is the only driver that yields affirmative results for all the three types of stated performances. In contrast, the factor green awareness is not strongly associated with any of the dimensions of performance aforesaid. Journal: Int. A two-stage method is developed, consisting of bootstrap-iterative method to find an initial solution without considering storage capacity, and a hybrid between cyclic coordinate method and solution evaluation using simulation to find the final solution under limited storage space. Numerical examples to demonstrate the method and computational experiments to evaluate the method's effectiveness under various scenarios are provided. In the single item experiment, effects of lead time, storage capacity, item movement, demand variability, and unit over-storage cost on the total cost savings from the proposed method are investigated. In the multiple item experiments, effects of the method, storage space sharing, storage capacity, and item package sizes on the cost savings are examined. Journal: Int. Therefore, this study aims to propose an approach to the personnel selection (PS) problem in a highly unstable industry of logistics in an emerging market, with a real case and in a group decision-making environment. Intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) TOPSIS method with a set of six criteria developed by a group of eight experts and evaluated by three managers in different levels of a logistics business, has been applied to six candidates to fulfil a vacant position of 'logistics specialist'. It concludes that 'communication/negotiation skills', 'analytical thinking', 'graduation', 'professional experience', 'teamwork', 'computer literacy', and 'fluency in foreign language(s)' are the criteria to be employed as a 'logistics specialist' with respect to their relative weights. Based on such criteria, the candidates are ranked respectively and the most appropriate one is recommended for employment. Journal: Int. Many of the routes and services are not profitable, but IR, being a state operator is obliged to operate them for political and social obligations. We developed a framework to compute the operational cost per trip of an IR passenger service using actual data. The total operational cost was evaluated against generated revenue, and it was found that break even could not always be attained. The proposed framework mandates significant changes in IR thought process and operational policy decisions, but it is pragmatic, viable and does not compromise customer benefits, we believe. We present the framework; illustrate the same using real data from few premium services and our detailed analysis. Journal: Int. This research presents a multi-attribute decision making approach to assess the competitiveness of airlines in the USA. The performance measures are considered under five competitiveness dimensions including, cost, price, service quality, management and productivity. Input from airline decision-makers was used to assign weights to the performance measures. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) methods were used to conduct a competitiveness analysis of ten US airlines for the year 2015. While the two methods produced slightly different results, the TOPSIS was found to be superior since it returned results in line with previous studies. These results can be used by airline management to benchmark against competitors. Journal: Int. In addition, organisations motivated by economic, environmental and legislative issues have begun to worry about the impact from their processes and products. This has encouraged organisations to use their storage facilities to store both forward and reverse flow materials. However, managing hybrid warehouse is complex due to the difficult in handling the material from both flows, and the need to reconfigure the warehouse system. Therefore, this paper proposed an integrative conceptual framework that assists in the strategic decision making regarding raw material warehouse design and operations in hybrid facility. The main contribution of this work is the systematisation and simplification of the strategic decision making process about warehouse design and operations in bidirectional flow environment, allowing optimising space, facilitating flow and minimising storage cost. This article proposes a decision support system (DSS) for solving the storage location assignment problem in a multi-client environment (SLAP-MC). The proposed DSS allows to improve the warehouse administration system and specifically the space allocation, for which a mathematical model and solution methods based on the iterated local search (ILS) and the greedy randomised adaptive search procedure (GRASP), are implemented and incorporated. The proposed DSS aims to minimise the order picking transport time, improve decision-making and automate storage operations system activities. Journal: Int. Based on the classification results, the optimal strategies for materials flow management are suggested. If there are commodities with a seasonal or rapidly changing demand in the inventory, then current classification is seriously influenced by the values observed before the change point emergence, which leads to increased significance for commodities already less significant, and the other way around, lower significance of the commodities with the recently increased profit or revenue. This work suggests a modification to ABC-XYZ analysis, which takes into account change point influences, allows finding better fitting groupings and decreases demand variability level by splitting sales series into sections with steady demand. Demand significance is recalculated once change point is detected as a product of a new average demand level for the period and a number of periods observed. Journal: Int. However, the problem features and assumptions diversify considerably and no literature review has classified the existing studies. The main contributions of this paper are: 1) to define the VRPSDP's field in its entirety; 2) to accomplish an all-encompassing taxonomic classification of the VRPSDP literature published since 1989; 3) to delimit all of VRPSDP's facets parsimoniously. A web-based questionnaire is developed to investigate the sustainability practices in Australian suppliers. Data from 66 received questionnaires are analysed via parametric and non-parametric tests to explain the differences between mean scores of the various sustainability practices implemented by retailers. The results identify two distinct governance mechanisms, which retailers apply to manage their suppliers' sustainability practices. The hands-off governance mechanism generally uses the sustainability practices in which retailers do not need to be involved directly when managing sustainability practices, while in the hands-on governance mechanism they are interested in participating directly. This paper is one of the few studies that empirically investigate governance mechanisms in the context of sustainability practices across the SN. Journal: Int. The partial least square-structural equation modelling analysis was used to understand how key inventory strategies affect operational performance of the food and beverage industries. The study found inventory strategies including economic order quantity and strategic supplier partnership to significantly influence operational performance, whereas just-in-time strategy had no significant influence on operational performance. This paper is an area biased, however, some insightful managerial implications could be deduced to properly manage inventory among food and beverage firms in similarly unstable business environments. The authors identified key inventory strategies, therefore helping managers in developing such strategies to improve operational performance. The paper contributes to the existing literature on inventory strategies and provides empirical evidence of key strategies and their corresponding effect on operational performance in a developing country. Evaluating the various inventory clearance strategies, particularly in terms of business risk and performance represents a challenge that reaches well beyond the operational level. In this paper, a structured approach is developed to aid in the clearance chain decision-making process. The proposed approach uses the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to select a clearance strategy with a focus on risk and performance indicators. AHP allows both quantitative and qualitative criteria to be considered. As for the unsold inventory allocation problem, a multi-objective optimisation method was adopted. The paper includes a discussion on managerial insights for clearance chain design where results give opportunities for future research. Journal: Int. Therefore, this paper aims to explore crucial Supply Chain 4.0 risks and to investigate the connection vulnerability between them. A total of 14 Supply Chain 4.0 risks have been identified through the existing literature and experts' opinions. The interpretive structural modelling (ISM) approach is used to analyse the interactions among Supply Chain 4.0 risks to develop a hierarchical structural model. The proposed model helps in understanding the dependence among the Supply Chain 4.0 risks. Besides, by using MICMAC analysis, the importance of Supply Chain 4.0 risks was determined on the basis of their driving and dependence power. This study gives managers a better understanding of Supply Chain 4.0 risks that have most influence on others. Moreover; this work may help practitioners to prioritise which risks need to be addressed. Journal: Int. Combinatorial optimisation is utilised to determine a set of routes that satisfies all customer demands while satisfying all operational constraints and minimising the cost. ODL Studio 1.4.1 was used to process and overlay data points onto a local map of real-world roadways. Solving the CVRP reduced the fleet size, decreased the overall route time by over four hours, eliminated 161 kilometres (25.6%) of daily travel distance and reduced gas consumption by over 3,000 gallons of fuel used each year. Application of this method to all routes will likely produce a synergistic effect as savings will be maximised across all routes and new savings may be acknowledged by the optimisation of interregional distribution. Because of its great utility in modern transport systems, the DVRP is now a very motivating and still attractive line of research for new studies. The complexity of this problem comes from the fact that it belongs to the VRP family in addition to the dynamism of its components. In this article, a very little studied variant of the DVRP is dealt with. This is the multi-tour DVRP with overtime (MTDVRPOT). We treat this problem from a multi-objective point of view, based on a bi-objective mathematical modelling. The first objective is to minimise the total travelled distance, while the second objective is to minimise to maximal performed overtime. A heuristic based on the iterative exact method was proposed to solve this problem. Its principle is to divide the working day into time periods and resolve iteratively the mathematical models. Each mathematical model corresponds to one subproblem of one time period. Journal: Int. In the real-world, VRPs are dynamic in the sense that new customers' requests continuously arrive over time, after a number of vehicles have already started their tours. Dynamic VRPs (DVRPs) require making decisions as fast as possible. This needs resolution methods with high computational efficiency especially for problems with a large number of customers. The aim of this paper is to attempt to achieve this objective. For this, we design a genetic algorithm for the DVRP and we implement it on GPU. The proposed approach inserts new requests into already planned routes then it optimises the resulting solution via genetic operators. To our knowledge, this is the first attempt to solve large DVRP on the GPU using evolutionary algorithm and seems to be efficient according to the experimental results on some published benchmarks and on our large instances (up to 10,000 nodes). This study aims at presenting a general approach to evaluate big data analytics (BDA) potential regarding supply chain resilience. The effects of three enablers of BDA capabilities, namely BDA management ability, BDA infrastructure flexibility, and BDA personnel expertise ability on supply chain resilience dimensions, namely efficiency-based capabilities, adaptive capability, and collaborative capability were studied in a conceptual framework. Evaluation of the research measurement as well as structural model validity was performed via partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results show that BDA capabilities have a positive and meaningful effect on supply chain resiliency. Moreover, according to the findings, capabilities of BDA personnel along with BDA infrastructure flexibility had a greater impact on supply chain resilience. Journal: Int. Demand is considered as a normal triangular fuzzy number and cloud normal triangular fuzzy number in uncertain environments to get the total minimum inventory cost. Yager's ranking index is used for defuzzification. The objective is to minimise the total inventory cost and compare the results in crisp, fuzzy and cloud fuzzy environment. With the help of numerical example, it is observed that the cloud fuzzy environment produce better results. Coordination and information sharing are two critical elements to the success of JELS models. This paper first introduces the JELS model, explains some key factors involved in its initial developments, and then provides the review methodology. This study aims to provide a comprehensive and systematic overview of the JELS literature based on the adopted review methodology. An effort has been made to classify the JELS literature based on various extensions of the JELS models and solution techniques used and also to provide a bibliometric analysis. Exploration of the JELS models in the green supply chain and in deteriorating items are identified as key trends while the issue of profit sharing among the JELS partners is identified as a promising research opportunity. Some other significant findings and future research directions are also suggested. Journal: Int. Generally, human and material resources are limited in hospitals and are ineffective in dealing with such a situation due to the number of important patients. During disasters, the hospital must ensure normal service and in addition receive several victims. Therefore, the medical infrastructure should optimally use its emergency resources. The main objective of this paper is to propose a white plan. To do this, we propose a multi-objective model to optimise the human and material resources in an emergency situation and to operate on patients as soon as possible. Since our problem is multi-objective, the non-dominated genetic algorithm NSGA-II is adapted to solve the large instances. A statistical analysis is performed using some measurements metrics to evaluate and validate the obtained Pareto solutions. The results are analysed and commented on to point out the efficiency of the resolution method. Journal: Int. This research has two objectives. The first is evaluation and selection the logistics services providers (LSP) by the method multi-objective optimisation on the basis of ratio analysis (MOORA) for logistics outsourcing of transportation or distribution of products (cars) specifically of company-port and vice versa (export and import). The second objective is to assign order quantities to be shipped through different LSP for optimising full truckload to minimise total shipping costs respecting truck capacity and vehicles export-import constraints by linear programming. The paper demonstrates that the techniques used may be useful for reducing the overall cost in the year. According to this study in the 2019 year, the saving achieved $75,652,464 MXP. It involves the redesign of this increasingly important process of the supply chain. This factor, in recent decades, has led to a focus on improving the stocks function. That is why this research aims at improving the current process, to take full advantage from the firm's acquired enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. This process study highlights the comparison between current process and its proposed improvement. The define-measure-analyse-improve-control (DMAIC) method is systematically applied, and new data emerge from the tests made in the ERP. The improved process will greatly reduce the execution time as well as the number of actors and amount of information circulating outside the system. However, for a greater performance, an analysis with coefficient of variation will be introduced in the future. Journal: Int. Each firm attempts to utilise suitable practices based on its activity and workplace. This paper aims to demonstrate the impact of lean tools on performance improvement. The improvements achieved are indicated through a case study in a quality control laboratory of a Moroccan pharmaceutical company. The elimination of irritants was carried out by following some well-defined steps. The approach used describes the implementation stages and the benefits of lean practices through a comparative study of the workplace before and after the implementation. The benefits are also indicated through a spaghetti diagram, which shows the arrangement of the workshop before and after the implemented changes. The findings reveal the impact of process reengineering steps and the benefits of lean practices on workspace improvement through gains in both space and time. Some other organisational challenges, especially those related to motion wastes, were also solved. Journal: Int. Indeed, a model of the multimodal platform is proposed performing massified exchange between maritime terminal and its Hinterland, and then an innovative scheme using radio-controlled wagons is designed. The major difference between classical and innovative scheme that in the last one, the aim is to release the locomotive as soon as the wagons have reached their destinations. The arrangement of the wagons on the tracks is no longer done by the locomotive but the wagons are motorised and remotely operated. The perimeter of the model is delimited, on the one hand, by the arrival of containers in handling areas in maritime terminal. And, on the other hand, departure of trains and barge in the multimodal terminal. Some rules and optimisation are used to improve output of the developed model. Finally, to compare classical vs. innovative scheme, some pertinent indicators are proposed and used to highlight the effectiveness of our approach. Journal: Int. Nevertheless, it is important to realise that a lack of a personal relationship will adversely affect the communication process between the individuals of supply chain member firms. This research fills this important gap in supply chain communication literature. As there is limited research in this field and qualitative approaches are considered ideal for evaluating emerging research phenomena, a case study approach is employed. Overall, 20 semi-structured interviews with senior managers from ten different firms engaged in the process of buying and selling logistics services are undertaken. The results show that the absence of a personal relationship between buyers and suppliers of logistics service providers negatively affects the communication process between the managers of focal firms in five distinct ways. The study concludes by discussing its implications for theory and practice, alongside limitations and future research directions. Journal: Int. An empirical survey and analysis is done on the primary data collected from industry professionals using statistical tools to identify the key strategic drivers, which will help to create higher business value. The aim of this research article is three-pronged - first identifying the key strategic drivers from literature review; secondly conduct an empirical survey on identified drivers; finally, using rank analysis to classify into a priority hierarchy of vital, essential and desirable for adoption in the battery industry. This study helps decision makers optimise time, energy and resources to formulate relevant SCM strategy with the identified critical success factors towards successful SCM. This paper makes adequate preparation for future research to decide the right set of strategic drivers in SCM for academicians and researchers. Journal: Int. A shipping line is required to satisfy demand of empty containers from both regional customers and foreign branches of the same company. Demand and returning containers from both customers and overseas ports per period of time are assumed to be serially-correlated and dependent random variables. We addressed completely integrated models that include both transportation and inventory control for repositioning empty containers. First, a mathematical model is established for current operations including four network elements which are overseas ports, a regional port, local depots and customers. Improved models are proposed to overcome some limitations at each connection link: overseas-port, port-depots, and depots-customers, respectively. New empty containers moving policy among depots are updated. The objective is to minimise total relevant costs over planning horizon, including inland and overseas transportation costs, order cost, inventory costs and lost-sales. A real case study of Vietnam shipping line is investigated to analyse the performance of the improved models over the current model in different aspects. Journal: Int. Particularly, the impact of combining XD and VMI, compared to VMI is investigated. The presented work is based on a case study research methodology. The research was done in collaboration with a fast moving consumer goods company and a French grocery retailer. A cost model has been developed to compare three different scenarios: 1) VMI scenario; 2) a XD scenario; 3) a combination of XD and VMI. The case study provides two main observations: 1) compared to VMI, XD is more economical: a 13% reduction of the cost; 3) combining XD and VMI reduces the supply chain cost by 28%. This paper fills a gap by proposing a cost analysis based on a real case study and by analysing the advantages of implementing different scenarios in the retail supply chain context. Furthermore, the cost model may be used to help managers choose the right distribution strategy for their supply chain. Journal: Int. Based on organisational culture theory measured by the competing values framework (CVF), this study developed a theoretical model to explore the effect of organisational culture on three types of supply chain integration efforts: 1) internal; 2) customer; 3) supplier integration and firm performance. However, the supply chain integration has positive effect on performance, organisational culture will be able to reduce or increase this effect. This research performed based on structural equation modelling (SEM), in 134 manufacturing firms in Qazvin province industrial parks. Collected data were analysed by partial least square (PLS) method in order to evaluate the relationship between variables and their impact on each other. Empirical results confirm that flexibility-stability orientation of culture does not significant impact on supply chain integration. Organisational performance is positively and significantly affected by supply chain integration especially among internal integration and business performance. We expect that the results of this study help better understand supply chain integration practices and managers take advantages of it. Journal: Int. Potential disruption scenarios are modelled considering the decision maker's (DM) risk-attitude. At first, the single-objective cost minimisation problem is formulated and extended as a multi-objective problem incorporating responsiveness as another objective. A set of Pareto solutions is obtained using the augmented <i>ε</i>-constraint (AUGMECON) method. The major inferences include: 1) the structural decisions are highly influenced by the SCN facility's failure probability and the DM's risk-attitude; 2) the cost-effectiveness is achieved by incorporating a portfolio of reactive strategies during the post disruption periods, whereas redundancy at design phase is preferred to maximise the resilience; 3) a rapid and radical albeit costly recovery option is favoured to maximise resilience while a slow and incremental recovery is preferred to minimise the cost. The relationship between the distributor and the retailer is coordinated using a revenue sharing contract, while the relationship between the manufacturer and the distributor is coordinated using a buy-back contract so as to encourage the distributor to order more. Mathematical models for these contracts are derived and analysed through numerical experiments to identify the optimal order quantities, the coordination conditions, the effects of the contract parameters and to identify the best possible contract parameter values which can lead to a win-win situation. A lack of research on this topic still prevails, especially in developing countries. This study investigated which qualitative and quantitative techniques acts as a possible catalyst towards demand uncertainty. This research was conducted through a survey within the South African FMCG sector. The unit of analysis was the perceptions of employees regarding their understanding of the following concepts: 'qualitative forecasting', 'quantitative forecasting' and 'catalyst for demand uncertainty'. It was found, using path analysis that qualitative rather than quantitative forecasting techniques act as a possible catalyst towards demand uncertainty. This paper contributes towards conceptualising the management of demand through qualitative versus quantitative forecasting as a possible catalyst for demand uncertainty to prevent OOS. Journal: Int. In this paper, we have considered a problem that an oil and gas company in the Middle East is facing in their logistics selection criteria for outsourcing. Our proposed research methodology adopted both qualitative and quantitative approach. A well-structured integrated method based on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) have been used to identify relevant criteria of third-party logistics service provider (3PLSP) and subsequently rank them. Proposed research methodology has been implemented in an oil and gas company as a case study. Results show that the highest ranked criteria under strength, weakness, opportunity, and threats of considered case company are operational accuracy (20.4%), operational speed (51.6%), transportation costs (12.4%), and insurance costs (15.6%) respectively. This study has several managerial and practical implications which are discussed at the end. Journal: Int. Inventories of raw materials are required to meet the given demand fluctuations and to support the delivery times of suppliers (lead time). This paper proposes a model for determining an inventory management system for raw materials by using multicriteria methods and fuzzy parameters. The raw materials are classified, and inventory policies are determined, with optimal levels for a company, which are required to have with effective methodologies leading better management of these aspects and better control of their standards. The proposed approach generates an ABC classification by using a multicriteria scoring method, and then inventory policies are defined by using a fuzzy strategy. The proposed approach has been tested in a real company producing items for personal hygiene absorbents and cosmetics. The obtained results are promising for multinational companies. Journal: Int. SC performance needs to be measured to assess how good it is. It must be done by considering the uniqueness and complexity. SC is a complex system due to its uncertainties, many actors, and different indicators. Extensive aquaculture fish is a perishable product, seasonal, and has high dependence on nature. The high dependence on nature is greatly influenced by the environment around the pond. These make the aquaculture fish SC also unique. The uniqueness and complexity will make it difficult to determine the level of SC performance. This difficulty can be overcome by using fuzzy logic. The respondents in this study were six experts in the SC. There are seven criteria to measure, i.e., facility, flexibility, efficiency, quality, responsiveness, government involvement, and environment. The result found that the overall SC performance is extremely good; with the distributors having the lowest performance. Journal: Int. To reduce this impact of product returns on a firm's baseline, we develop and compare different collection models by leveraging economies of scale and optimising the collection period across multiple initial collection points (ICPs) in a three-echelon network before transshipping the returned products to a centralised return centre (CRC). Collection policies are developed for the case of multiple ICPs and a single type of product: 1) individual shipment policy; 2) combined shipment policy; 3) hybrid shipment policy. Mathematical models are developed for calculating the combined inventory and transportation costs for these policies, and an optimisation approach is designed to minimise the number of computations required to reach the optimal collection period. The results are then presented with an experimental dataset. Journal: Int. In recent years, reducing the environmental impacts of human activities has been paid more attention. Also, since the vehicle routing plays a significant role in reducing the logistic transportation costs, providing such a model for minimising these sorts of costs is crucial. This paper studies a two-objective mixed integer nonlinear programming model to design a multi-product and multi-level green reverse logistics network using vehicle routing in view of their capacity. The proposed model is able to minimise the environmental impact along with minimisation of traditional cost. For solving the model in large-scale, two meta-heuristic algorithms including non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II and multi-objective particle swarm optimisation algorithm have been used. The BFLRN consists of four echelons; harvest sites, storage facilities, biorefineries and blending facilities with four goals on the location-routing of these four echelons. The GP approach to accommodate these four goals is applied. Solving the GP model for various values of the weight assigned to each goal will generate various BFLRN schemes. Considering each scheme as a decision-making unit (DMU), DEA is applied to find the most efficient one among efficient schemes. A case study using the biomass feedstocks data for South Carolina is conducted to evaluate the integrated procedure, which results in identifying efficient and robust BFLRN schemes. It would attract potential investors who are interested in the biofuel/bioenergy industry. Journal: Int.
