Goods purchasing is relatively well understood, but firms still struggle to achieve adequate acquisition of services. The focus of this research is to observe purchaser integration and its impact on collaboration with both internal customers and external service providers (suppliers) when buying services. This empirical study therefore examines in detail different service types occurring as a contingent factor. It employs partial least squares (PLS) analysis - a technique based on structural equation modelling to analyse questionnaires from Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In addition to identifying service type-specific differences, the findings provide a better understanding of purchaser integration and collaboration during the service purchasing process. Several implications are explored that could be used to improve managerial support for purchasing professionals. Journal: Int. Our study has analysed two important drivers: organisational orientation (learning and market) and SCI [supply chain integration η internal integration and external integration (supplier and customer)]. The study was conducted among 202 manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The structural model was tested using structural equation modelling (SEM). The key findings of our research are: 1) learning orientation and market orientation synergistically drive internal integration and customer integration; 2) internal integration drives external integration and product innovation; 3) customer integration drives supplier integration and product innovation; 4) internal integration mediates the relationship between organisational orientation and product innovation; 5) customer integration mediates the relationship between organisational orientation and product innovation. This research has been able to explain the process of product innovation by analysing the direct and indirect effects of market and learning orientations and SCI. Journal: Int. This paper reviews different methods of supplier selection from 2006 to 2016 to streamline the recent approaches and techniques used, identify emerging themes in domain literature, and compare the strengths and weaknesses of these approaches. Supplier selection approaches were classified into: 1) individual approaches; 2) integrated approaches; 3) 'emerging approaches'. Individual approaches were categorised into multi-criteria decision-making, mathematical programming, artificial intelligence, fuzzy decision-making, and statistical models. Integrated approaches to these individual methods have also been investigated in detail. The third category, which is the 'emerging approaches', pertains to novel methodologies addressing specific supplier selection themes that have not yet been well-studied. Findings show that the emerging themes in supplier selection problems include uncertain environment, risks, and sustainability. Popular approaches include a multi-criteria decision-making, fuzzy decision-making, and mathematical programming. Journal: Int. Recent publications address that issue with the conclusion that even buyers benefit from satisfied suppliers, getting preferential treatment and access to limited supplier resources. This contribution focuses on the procurement function of the buyer and its impact on supplier satisfaction. Structural equation modelling is used to investigate the effect of three antecedent factors: 1) the service quality; 2) the communication quality; 3) the time management quality of a buyer's procurement function. The findings show significant effects of all the constructs, and communication quality is the most relevant. The results extend the breadth of constructs explaining supplier satisfaction and highlight the role of procurement and supply management as the points of interaction with the supplier. Journal: Int. A growing body of literature calls for additional research that explores leadership and environmental commitment in supply chains. This study examines direct and indirect relationships between supply chain leadership and environmental commitment. Data from 103 supply chain representatives from small and medium-sized enterprises was analysed using partial least squares path modelling. Results showed transformational leadership had a direct influence on fairness in dealings and on environmental commitment. In addition, fairness between supply chain members was found to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and environmental commitment. While leadership is necessary to advance broader vision and strategy, fairness can assist in furthering common initiatives, specifically environmental commitment. By integrating resources and capabilities in a fair manner, supply chains can advance critical dimensions of sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Journal: Int. J. of Integrated Supply Management Pages: 118-142 Issue: 1/2 Volume: 12 Year: 2018 Keywords: transformational leadership; procedural justice; fairness; supply chain environmental commitment; corporate social responsibility; green supply chain management; sustainability. As interests of the actors are aligned when using a revenue-sharing contract, the willingness for information sharing is expected to increase. This increase will lead to improvement of overall performance within the relationship. To measure the impact of the revenue-sharing contract on willingness for information sharing, a laboratory experiment is conducted. Basis of this experiment is a modified investment game, allowing for information sharing possibilities. The use of an experimental setup allows for a controlled environment and reproducibility when analysing the behaviour of the actors involved. To evaluate the data obtained from our laboratory experiment, non-parametric statistics are applied. The results of the experiment indicate a significant change in the subjects' behaviour when a revenue-sharing contract is in place. Results show an increase in willingness to share information when a revenue-sharing contract is introduced as well as increased overall profits. The results of the experiment indicate that revenue-sharing contracts have the potential to evoke the willingness for information sharing. Journal: Int.
